Anyone from around Philadelphia knows that a REAL Philly cheesesteak is made with Cheez Whiz (and with Amoroso rolls).

:)

I didnt think about cheez whiz. But doesnt it require refrigeration after opening? I've never used it much myself although I do love it.

There's only one way to be sure... someone has to "take one for The Team". ;)
Lenny: how about starting a jar of cheez whiz, and leave it out of the fridge?

My 2nd last cheese stock up, the best deal was on half pound bricks, so that's what I bought.
The very last one lasted just over a month, with zero mold. :)
It was the last one I opened, so that helped, plus I very tightly wrapped it in saran wrap between uses.
During that period, it was kept in a soft sided cooler, and only had ice about three times, worth about 2 days of mild cooling each time.
Temperatures were often "oppressive".
I'm now far more inclined to buy bricks of cheese. :)
Will post before & after pics, soon-ish.

P.S. That #10 can of freeze-dried mozz has come down 2 and a half more bucks to $31.10:

That's a new all-time Amazon low, according to CamelCamelCamel. :)
I just checked Walmart, and they're also having a sale on it.
That's the exact same product I posted pics & reviews of, near the beginning of this thread. I'd buy more if I didn't already have an open can. :)
