Charging Lithium batteries and solar

When you have a solar system attached to your lithium batteries and a small portable generator (with battery charging capability) for backup how do you charge your batteries with the generator? Can you just clip on?  Is there an electronic device that will automatically choose to charge the batteries via the solar or AC (if present) whichever is best?

it would help if we knew what generator(with a battery charger) you are talking about?

on my Honda the 12v is unregulated. so no you just can't clamp it on and forget about it.

It's a Yamaha SC 2000i inverter generator

Most likely the simplest solution is an AC battery charger.

You can just add that to solar.

I’m still trying to figure out how much of an issue load management is while charging.
