Hello Everyone,
This is actually my first forum, I have been kicking around the idea of RV living for many years. Circumstances seem to be indicating it's a good time to start do serious investigation and to learn as much as possible, I think that's why I haven't pulled the trigger before.

I live in Mexico but am an American. I work as a contract Chef. The plan is to buy in the states. But where? Florida? Texas? Also do I want a camper trailer? Or a smaller RV I don't want anything to hard to maneuver but still big enough for two people. Am I asking too much? Let me know.

Thanks for the welcome and wish you all a wonderful Day

Welcome Chef to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. highdesertranger

Welcome Chef. How about a food truck. Set up a compartment for living and have a big kitchen. You would be a hit at the campsites. By the way I like Tacos, all different types of tacos, no Cilantro. Hmm- there is some logic to it. As far as your environment is concerned, match a state/states to your needs. Research.

P.S. A food truck may make the ultimate urban stealth camper. Except those tomes you are awakened by someone wanting a breakfast burrito. J.K. :D

What a great idea! I wonder do they have food trucks at RTR?...

it is hard to pull the trigger when it is such a 'what if I do this' in my life scenario :) :)

how bad do you want it?
what type of life do you really want?
what will suit you guys to do what you love thru life?
how small of a space can you truly live?
have you camped before and know some stuff even if a little?

even those questions can be questionable LOL and it is all about what the heck do you want?

hard for anyone else to answer. also just because one 'desires freedom' and 'less rat race' on the road might not be the ultimate life adventure....it could be something else.

take your time :)

think truly how you want to roll forward and it will come to you guys. it will fall into place as it is meant to fall into place :) best of luck to ya!

There is a annual rig building party in Arizona the first couple of weeks of November. You can go there and get Ideas of what type of rig you want to live in. From what I understand they need volunteers using their technical skills or general laborer, also cooks to prepare food for the workers. You don't have to volunteer everyday just at your pace. If you have a rig that needs work performed, the build teams are free. You just supply the materials and volunteer your skills as you see fit. There is a coordinator available to schedule your build and times you want to volunteer. I am thinking of checking it out this year.

Welcome to the forums. I love the idea of having a food truck - maybe with a trailer behind to live out of. I do hope for vegan options!

I like the idea as well, although udgetconstraints will not allow both, I have been thinking of a C Class toy hauler using the space behind to do food. And as my son and I are also vegan we would certainly bring mexico with us in the form of exellent tacos and empanadas :p

That is amazing. Does it have a name that gathering? What a wonderful idea.

Check out "Nomadic Enigmatics" You Tube channel. Jamie is the name of the man facilitating the Build Party. He has the info for Time Place and contacts. He also has video's of last years Build Party.

During my lengthy research for my own rig, I was once considering a enclosed cargo trailer build. Many times I came across  cargo trailers  that were food trailers on craigslist. Some trailer manufactures Make trailers specific for food vending. Enclosed trailers are relatively inexpensive and you can find one to meet your needs. The main expense would be a tow vehicle. You can find one with food prep equipment on board or a new one where you can install equipment as you go.
