Recently I just started building my vintage bugout truck with a different shell. I had been looking for a period correct shell for a long time but I could never find one. Then while searching the free section in craigslist I found this one in amazing shape. This goes with our truck so much better and gives us so much more room to work with and build back there. Can't wait to get started, again, lol

Hey, that looks fantastic! I'm getting jealous. i need to find a period correct camper for my '66 C/10. Then we can cruise around town with our vintage camper trucks making all the modern camper guys envious, lol. I'm digging it so far, keep us updated! Cheers!

Lol sounds like a plan!!!

Wow, that brings back memories of a youth spent riding in the back of Pops old Ford pick ups with and without the shell. He had built it out with benches and a table/ bed for hunting season. Even had a furnace in it. Funny thing is he and the whole family worked for Chevy but those trucks had coil springs. Fords had leaf.

No it is just a 2wd.  Nothing more than 2wd dirt loads any.

I like that topper. I always wanted to find an old Pulman topper with the slide out roof. They were heavy but tough enough to handle rough roads and super comfortable. I used to see them in California in the '80s and they were old then. I haven't seen one on the road for years.

that's so cool I had totally forgotten about those, thanks for posting the pics. highdesertranger
