A few good ideas to help you camouflage in a urban environment day or night

First, purchase a few magnetic signs from a local sign shop
A few examples. ...24hrs. Plumbing service, Pest Control, and Florist
If your parked in a parking lot these signs would give less suspicion to business owners and law enforcment
but park in the first few parking lot spaces near any after hours business because everyone knows your not
going to park at the furthest space if not nescessary unless its during the day time hrs.
If law enforcement does decide to question you regarding the services just explain you purchase the vehical with the signage already installed and you will be removing them as soon as finance are available

Most wont think twice if a work vehical is parked in front of a business during the day or night so just pay attention
to which services is best for your sleeping arrangment but keep in mind dont place a name of the service you choose because that might not work out well in the long run for example truly pest control, just keep it simple and sign should read pest control!

Be safe and keep stealthing

I rather doubt very many businesses would appreciate a 'Pest Control' truck parked in their lot.  :D

Rooter Tooter Pooter Sewer and Drain Service would work to keep people away!

Once again- I believe we pay a fee for dishonesty.

U R absolutly rite LR, cuudn't 'gree mo'. :D

Park your well kept, non flamboyant vehicle where like vehicles normally park , practice being invisible, and there will be fewer times when you have to 'splain yourself to some LEO.

I do not know how actively it is enforced but in some states if you have signage on your vehicle, you have to run commercial plates.  A quick search on-line indicated that Ohio was cracking down.  I did not take the time to dig through state regulations but there were enough forum postings on other boards that I would research it for my state before using any signs.

The best camouflage I've found is simply having a normal looking window van.

I did my best to pull off decals from my old van and used rubbing compound to try to remove the "ghost" of it's former lettering.  To me it looked like a work van that had no signs, maybe a carpet layer or painter's van.  The thing is it looked like a work vehicle, not a converted motor home.  I parked a lot behind the bar, not the same bar 2 days in a row usually.

You could also move somewhere else, where living in a van is allowed like I did. No more stress for me.

As for Camo...my van is covered in street art and murals...very noticeable...LEO's love it believe it or not. They always know it is me, they would know if caused trouble because the description would be very unique and after a few years and a few run-ins they know me and we all get along and that I don't break the law. In some cities I would be hauled away, van towed and who knows what else.

I did some stealth living in NorCal, but once again I was pretty obvious and once again the LEO's liked me and I was never hassled even camping on the beach where not legal(they spotlit me and two other vans one night but didn't even stop) or in town where also not legal. I have found that if you don't cause trouble you wont get in any. But I live in very liberal, west coast states. Don't do as I do just anywhere, I know I wouldn't.

Just curious as to where you are that it is legal?
