Woot! I loves me some step vans.  Thanks, Cammy!

I thought of you and Seven when I saw this little stepvan in Amarillo:

I heard of a mini gtg in Colombia, MO so turned my nose back west. I'm at a wallyworld on the east side of St. Louis for the night.

Today I saw the largest ketchup bottle in the world:

I love the cheesy roadside attractions [emoji3]

A giant chicken was also spotted:

And lastly a plaque commemorating a solar power plant built in Olney, IL in 1902.

Tomorrow a zoo visit then on to the mini gtg. I hope I never have to go home...

Now that is cool! Once we get on the road, ill take the wife there!

I liked that ketchup bottle big time.  I swear my Mom would/did ration ketchup to her Great Grandkids!  When I 1st moved into the apt. building next to hers she made a couple of comments like  "would you like some fries with your ketchup" to me. That stopped one day when I showed up at her apt. for lunch with her and my sister.  I brought my own bottle.  She told me she had ketchup and I said "I've lost my ration card".  Well my Sis and I thought it was funny :D :D
Mom not so much

I wish my WiFi reached her apt. I show her that big ol' bottle and ask her where they sell them in Alabamdama.
I might even get a grin out of her :)

Hey Jewellen I can send you the ketchup bottle pics to your email if you like.

You are wandering all over my state! If you stay over west and south in IL you'll see so much, folks really embraced Rt 66 back in the day and put up all sorts of cool stuff.

It will be another time Queen. I'm off to the St Louis zoo in just a couple minutes then on to the mini gtg. I'll be back though!

Glad you're having fun!! I'm enjoying your trip vicariously while I pack the apartment.

I've been in the St Louis Zoo--it's kinda small but nice. They were building a new paddock while I was there, so it's probably finished by now.

If you like history stuff, check out Cahokia, across the river from St Louis in Illinois. I found it interesting. It was a Native American mound-builder settlement that was, in its time, one of the largest cities in the world.

:)

Lenny that sounds great but I'm running out of time today. I still can't walk long distances at ALL yet and I have my scooter with me but I didn't have the battery totally charged evidently. I did get to see some of the exhibits but I'll have to come back and spend a day of it.
