I've been having this issue too. The bugs get so bad that most of the time I sleep with the windows up, but it gets really muggy and I feel like I'm suffocating.
I know how you feel. I use a fan from WalMart. It can be used through your accessory plug in the van or by batteries. I camp a lot in wooded areas. I start the van's A/C first to cool off and then use the fan for the night. Good luck, Kandy
Here's how i did mine. Used velcro on the insides of the door to hold it up while i close the door. To get the velcro to stick to the mesh i cut little pieces of gorilla tape to stick to the other side, pressed 'em together through the mesh and closed the door on them over night. By morning the glue on the tape and the velcro had fully adhered together and hold up well enough.

If you also wanted to velcro the blackout curtains to the window you could just put the toothy bit on the black out fabric, the toothy side of the velcro should stick to the screen pretty well on it's own, no need for the thready side(are there technical terms for these @_@?) All in one?

Or you could always make curtains like mine. I ziptied a 3/4 wooden dowel(much cheaper, bout 2 bucks a rod, then a metal curtain rod from wall-mart, just under 10 a rod, and stronger to boot) to the handholds(god i am full of forgetfulness today! i cannot remember what they're called!) And used C-hangers to hold the curtain up, that way i can just pull them off the beem to open an close the curtains with out the handhold getting in the way. Also makes a convenient place to hang crap ^^ that's my 'mod bag' all the basic tools for making minor modifications to my car.

Bluff rat,

We've got to talk! Your set up is very like mine. Do you find that the screens give you away to the cops? Good stuff
I'v been quite lucky i think ^^ not a single up-close cop encounter, though there have bee several cop nearby encounters XD

I did notice last time i went shopping (snacks for an all night cram session, oi, bad habits <_&lt that the screens reflect a surprising amount of light at night. I'v started parking father from lights because of that. That being said i don't think the cops have really be paying attention to them any ways. A few weeks ago i was up late writing a paper (due the next morning, see what i said about bad habits?). I had my black out curtains pulled up in such a way that they blocked even the little strip of light you can see in that pic (i'v since made valence's for that purpose, go up faster) and had all my lights and my laptop on. I happened to pull the curtain a bit aside to glance out the window (for no real reason) and low and behold! Flashing Lights!

A cop had pulled someone over not 20 ft from my car! -_-;;;; i still can't believe i didn't notice earlier. The cop hung around for a bit after the other car had left but he never came to bother me. So i don't think he noticed the bugscreen (or the lights!) That's not the only time such things have happened, i'v also had cops loitering in my parking lots for no apparent reason and wandering around the area on foot, still haven't been noticed (or if i have then these are some aweful nice cops)

U could also go to Yard Sale and
Pick up an old Tent and use the
Screens.

Is White or black the best non Suspicios
color to use ?

I wish someone would invent something like those pop up sunscreens made of no see um netting that you can't see in that perfectly fits your windows. Roll down windows, pop up your screen, go to sleep. Ahhh... I can dream....

I think Europe has more RV van models
and options available.

Japan still puts out new Previas . .

You're about 25 years too late T... :D

They were available back then because everybody and their brother drove vans and used them for camping.

The days of several thousand vans from all over North America all converging in one spot for a week long event are long since past..sigh!!

The problem with todays' vans is the shape of the windows. When we had actual 'no draft' sections at the front, the window that rolled down was square and you could make a window screen for it. Although...now you have me thinking and scheming which is dangerous stuff... :p
