EDIT - Pic is too big, I'll shrink it down after I get some firewood.

So I turned off my internet in my apartment trying to get a minimalist view, I know its minor but baby steps.

I spent a few days at a local national park, LOVED IT, basic cooking, no electric hookup etc.

Took this pic as the sun was going down (The pic sucks but oh well), got flamed on my facebook from everything from creeper van to how are you relaxing in a pedo van? Comments, let's just say I cleaned up my friends list.

I honestly was blown away by the comments, I'm out enjoying life, people are so judgemental its crazy.

Anyway! A little shot I took before dinner, relaxing by the water.

I'm just glad I have a place I can go where people share my interest.

Having a great time.

Chris

They're not judgmental. They're jealous.

Continue to enjoy your freedom!

I have found in the last few years that I need less and less materialistic things. I also feel like I am being drawn to nature. So this is the path I chose to take. I am grateful that I found this site and people that think just like I do. I don't worry about what others say. To each his own.

I found that there are more important things other than material possessions. (key word POSSESSIONS)
pos·ses·sion
pəˈzeSHən
noun
plural noun: possessions
1.
the state of having, owning, or controlling something.
"are you in possession of any items over $500 in value?"
synonyms: ownership, control, hands, keeping, care, custody, charge, hold, title, guardianship
LAW
visible power or control over something, as distinct from lawful ownership; holding or occupancy.
"both teams attempting to gain possession of the ball"
synonyms: occupancy, occupation, tenure, holding, tenancy
"her possession of the premises"
informal
the state of possessing an illegal drug.
"they're charged with possession"
(in football, basketball, and other ball games) temporary control of the ball by a particular player or team.
"the ball hit a defender and Brown's quick reaction put him in possession"
2.
an item of property; something belonging to one.
"I was alone with no money or possessions"
synonyms: belongings, things, property, (worldly) goods, (personal) effects, assets, chattels, movables, valuables; stuff, bits and pieces; luggage, baggage; informal gear, junk

What is controlling you? What owns you?

A tiny thing in the over-all scheme of things, but.....

The last two days I have spent at my elderly Mom's place, as she is having the livingroom and hallway refloored - new vinyl replacing the fortyfour year old gross red carpet! Had to move all the furniture out, so no TV and Telephone for two full days. Made for a very nice and relaxing time. We talked and read a lot. I worked on my E150 van a bit. I figure that would hold true for a lot of van-dwellers too. Getting back to really living, and communicating with each other, rather than just allowing TV to turn our brains to jello. ;-)
I stopped watching mainstream TV years ago, when they went to digital. Reception and program choice both sucked. Still do. Radio and a good book are more rewarding.

We traveled in post-hippie days but weren't hippies. But many saw us as that. So we let them. In fact since I was selling hand made jewelry and otheroriginal art..I encouraged it.
The best sentence in your message was that you 'cleaned out your friends list'.
This is a derogatory world sometimes..people who are jealous, anxious or afraid of travelers should get to know us, or learn to ignore and not judge.

Hope you post that picture.

Good post..we can live in several worlds at once..
We are getting our G20 van ready for a winter of nosing around..one more outing..and then..

I'm jealous. I'm stuck at home right. Glad that you cleaned out your Facebook friends list. You don't need those people anyway.

The spot that you are (were) at looks wonderful! I hope that you enjoyed yourself!
