To get even better reception for a little more (like $5-7), you can buy it with a magnetic base to mount it on top of your roof and run the wires inside to your USB WiFi.
You need to buy a USB WiFi adapter (then disable the onboard WiFi to save power and lessen conflicts) from $5 to $40. I'd imagine a $40 one is better. But mine is $8 and it's better than the built in WiFi adapter on my laptop, because its antenna is just a little wire, buried inside and below the keyboard.
