Just curious what area would be considered away from the RTR gathering? I'm bring my pickup tent and ATV along with the Honda Genny if anyone is interested in it.

I want to be far enough away so my generator does not intrude on anyones need for silence. I'm not bringing my cat so that teeny issue is resolved.

I won't stay long, the VA snuck an appt in on me that I can't miss, well I can but would wait another six months or more to get another.

Is there a map or drawing of what areas Bob has?

Thanks, Rob

The honda is so quiet that as long as you are reasonable with its use it's not that big of a deal. ATVs are fine, but like all motor vehicles in the camp, SLOW DOWN! No one wants to eat your dust.

Thanks Bob, some of my meds make me sensitive to temperatures. I figured just park away from the crowd. I will be using the atv to go into town so I can run errands if anyone needs things. Rob

You don't need to worry about planning where to park, just show up and park wherever seems right. If you feel like you're too close move further away. It's a big desert.

The NorCal VA scheduled me for a Jan 12 appt, so I called and had it rescheduled for Feb 7.   They are really good about getting appointments rescheduled in a timely fashion.

Mine is with a specialty clinic ENT and they are backed up here in Dallas. It's not an emergency to them but I am tired of being deaf 50% of the time til my ears pop.. Noone can tell me why they do that. Maybe meet you there 66788... Rob

"Noone can tell me why they do that."

Probably from running that generator ....ROFLOL!

Thank you for being considerate. I'm bringing the little inverter generator but it's for emergencies only.

Yeah at this point I'll be there only a few days too, my job won't let me off till the 15th at the earliest

gunny if you take a piece of plywood the size of the genny and place it like a sound barrier it reflects the sound away from others. it will almost silence a Honda or Yamaha. the only thing, if you lean the ply on the genny you have to be careful not to block the airflow. it's better to stake it up like a foot away. anyhoo see you there. highdesertranger

I am in a class C with a noisy generator. I won't be running it all the time, but will need it some. Is there a way to silence this type? I am also concerned about how far to park away.

running your genny during the day usually isn't a problem. park so that the genny side of your RV is facing the open desert. where RTR is located is a huge flat area, it's not hard to find a spot here your genny will not bother people. highdesertranger

Phantom Blooper, two things; Thanks for the actual laugh and I like the way you think. Rob

I will be bringing a large stockpot to cook A gallon or two of Wick Fowlers Chili. No beans, real chili. Need to buy a stove to cook it on I suppose. A bit spicy.

Rob

it's b.l.m,bureau of land management land, owned by the u.s.a. so no one can rope it off and make up their own rules,so if you follow blm rules you are good

me and my neighbor have a running friendly feud over this
i make chili with pintos,he makes this meat sauce stuff

Spicy? if you ain't sweating, it ain't really chili
I prefer chili without beans, beans are added to stretch the meat, not for better taste :D

I'll leave the chili with beans challenge for another day, it's all good. I have no way of cooking cornbread unless I bring it from home.. Dinner time and I am making myself hungry.
