Being a major smoothie junkie myself, I approve of this post!

Hi,
I love 'em too...yum is right.

This one uses 175 w AC power, She...but only for a matter of seconds. I always haqve a 400w invertor in my van.
I was looking at the "Bullet" but it is way too spendy for my amout of use...

Bri

I really like my Kitchen Aid immersible blender. Pricier but it was a gift. It came with several attachments, too, and does everything my large Cuisinart does except in smaller portions. Just right for the RV.

Have you tried the green smoothies yet? With Kale (a wonderfully healthful green, especially raw) or spinach? You can mix em w/fruit and they are so good you don't even know it's in there... except it's green! Another wonderful one is pumpkin pie smoothie... basically about 1/2 a banana, about 1/3 or 1/4 can of pumpkin (freeze or fridge the rest) yogurt and your liquid of choice.. i use almond or coconut milk, cinnamon (great for keeping your blood sugar level) and nutmeg!!! Oh and ice of course! Oh man, that is a yummy, healthful breakfast! You can add honey for sweetener but I don't. (does the bullet use a lot of power? that's what I have)

That is what I was looking at as well...I think that is what Sue SoaringSun has, or one like it....In fact if something like that had been in the store where I bought my little solo blender was, I may have bought that instead....Nice.

I don't know but probably not very much...take a look at the little place on it...the label or plate where it says stuff...on there it should tell you how many watts.

I don't know if my little blender is tough enough to grind up spinach or kale....but I will try...sounds great...thanks for the recipes...
Bri

I have a stick blender that works great. They seem to last a few years then it is time for a new one. Works pretty good for making hummus too.

I have a Vitamix...I love it, use it everyday and will by a generator just so I can use it! A green smoothie is a daily treat and have been getting healthier since drinking them. Hate to even think how much juice the Vitamix takes! The Bullet is great too except it doesn't chop ice as well as the Vitamix.

Rae

Vitamix!!! My husband and I used to do the Whole Life Expos for our little biz, and we made friends with the folks that were selling the Vita-Mixes. You see the same folks over and over at these kinds of Fairs. Anyway, every day, Dave knew the exact time that the Vitamix People were doing their demos, and he'd run over and get his juice! They learned to set aside a nice cuppa for him!

I just wish they didn't cost more than my car!!
I have a Vitamix, too! Love it! Very powerful, very tough, this thing could blend a 2x4...

In fact, I used it at the end of one of my youtube videos on thermos cooking sprouted wheat:

Since I'm gonna be on shore power, power isn't the problem.... the problem for me is no counter space. The ONLY thing even REMOTELY resembling counter space in the ol' antique Class C I'm soon gonna be living in, is a square board which covers the stove burners. THAT'S IT!

I considered that Hamilton Beach blender, and saw that it received great reviews on Amazon. I ended up going with the Ninja Kitchen System Pulse instead, mainly because it's going to be doing double duty in my home and on the road. It comes with 3 small smoothie cups and a larger traditional style container as well. I have not started traveling in my van yet, but when I do I plan on taking the blender along with one of the small smoothie cups along.
