Aloha from Hawaii everyone! This is my first post on this website and excited to be here. I have been saving money for awhile now to buy a van and live in it full time.
I have had this question for a while now and can't seem to decide. Which is better? Store your bike behind your van on a bike rack? Or get a van that is a little bit longer for storage in the back to fit the bike?

Hello there Ray, I don't think there is a 'better, just a matter of opinion. For me, I always travel with a bike(s), remove the front wheel and put it inside the back of the van. When I get where I'm going, I keep it outside.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'm going to stick with a shorter one so I don't have to worry about the issue of fitting in a parking spot. I think I'll just get real creative if I need to sstore my bike in the van

It depends on the type of cycling you are interested in but take a look at folding bikes. They are pretty useful on boats and RV's

I think you will have an answer once you actually get a van. Put your bed and everything else inside and see how much room you have left. Take into account the room you need to actually live in the van, particularly during stretches of bad weather. Room has a way of disappearing.

A third option is a roof rack.

Carry it inside if it doesn't interfere with your living space. Carry it outside, if you don't want a muddy/dirty bile parked within your living space.

Thanks for the input everyone but I found a Ford bus for sale that I'm going to buy and has plenty of room for my moped that I currently own!
