Seems like anything can be illegal someplace.

zil I don't know what they want you to do with pet waste. I know they don't want it in the trash it states that right on the trash cans. yes they have made it so everybody is breaking the law. in this country now everybody is doing something illegal. highdesertranger

What I have found here, is the municipal trash cans on main street are labeled not for household trash. Doggie pick up can go into them. I look for a dumpster, realizing I am trespassing, but I rather be cursed by merchant than chased by police.

I bought the same thing and discovered that it was too short for me. A 5 gal. bucket doesn't fir under it. It's fine for outdoors pit but still too short.

You arent supposed to put that one on a bucket the bags attatch to it, thats the one I have and I like it just fine

In my trailer I have a porta potty for those big yobbie jobbies - & a piss jar that I just toss out somewhere in the bushes. Hey - just being honest, this is how I do it. But a few years ago I rented a car to go long distance to a dog show. Pitched my tent at the show grounds. Nature was pushing its way to the exit. I took one look at the aqua colored outhouse & said 'there's got to be a better way." Grabbed a plastic bag, opened the passenger door & very descreetly squatted in primal art form & did the deed Stood up & buckled my belt, walked over to the trash can & tossed the bag & the offending contents. Glanced back at the outhouse and sware it was looking at me with jealousy. I won!

My MamaLou won 3rd place in conformation in her class - I know I was first place in mine

I had a "Luggable Loo" and found it to be adequate, but then I found a much better alternative. They are called "Gamma Lids" and they are a two piece air tight lid that snaps onto the top of any bucket. They are much more heavy duty than the Luggable Loo and they are "air tight" once they are sealed. Not quite as comfortable to sit on as the Loo, but comfortable enough.

http://www.amazon.com/Gamma-Seal-Li...1368233698&sr=8-1&keywords=bucket+lid

I keep a 5 gallon bucket and inside is a roll of TP, an empty oil jug for #1, a bottle of hand sanitizer, roll of cheap plastic garbage bags and bag of absorbant "Animal Bedding" that I picked up a Pet Store and a spray can of Pure Citrus Lemon. The bucket stays in my van and has saved me a few times.
I like that, just added it to my Amazon wish list. It seals in the odor effectively?

The only part about the gamma lids I wouldn't like is the fact they aren't easy to open. Many of the food-grade buckets I worked with in the restaurant world had this type of lid and u had to have a special tool to open them. Aside from that, they seriously seal whatever's inside!

The Gamma lids are actually a 2 piece lid, similar to those that are on those large 5 gallon food buckets, but I think they're a little different. The outer seal portion snaps into place along the edges of the outer ring of the bucket. That one is hard to remove, but it pretty much stays on there all the time. The inner circle part is actually threaded in, and it has a big cross pattern to grip to spin it on and off. I've never had a problem getting them open, but I imagine if you really cranked one on it may be an issue.

I've had mine for about a year now and it seals up tight and odor leaks have never been an issue. I actually added a bead of silicone caulk on the top edge of the outer ring before snapping it in place, but I doubt it was necessary.

Plastic bags are cheap. dispose of the waste as you generate or at least as soon as you find a trash can. The Gamma lids make it easy to get into a bucket, but make it hard to clean up after toileting.

Yeah, the plastic bags are a must. I found a easy way of securing the bag is to use a loop of that stretchy bungee cord. Basically I open the bucket, put a 13 gallon trash bag inside and overlap it down over the sides of the bucket by a couple inches. Put the loop of bungee around the outside over the bag and it's locked in place, keeps the bucket sanitary and makes disposal a breeze.
