Art (painting, oils, pastels etc)

So is anyone into pastels, and oils and drawing? I sort of am.  I'm not good enough to get sales but I enjoy drawing and know I'll be taking some art supplies with me when I finally go full time, any one else?

Even if you never sell a piece of art, if it brings you enjoyment, what more can you ask for? <br />I am good at art, I love to dance but I am not a good dancer but so what? I dance anyway. Now singing is different. I wish I could sing or play an instrument. <br /><br />That's the way I see it, I enjoy looking at my art and I enjoy the process of filling a blank piece of paper/canvas so I do it.</span>

I brought all my art supplies with me. I paint with acrylics and sketch with pencil, charcoal and soft pastels. I have a huge Rubbermaid container full of supplies, many blank canvases and a valise full of sketching papers. I consider it a necessity for my new lifestyle. I would unload a lot of things before I'd get rid of that! I need to paint and draw for my sanity and I love doing it. It also brings in a little income. It's important to me and that's what counts. I'd be lost without it.&nbsp;<br><br>Priorities are what it's all about. Art is a priority for me. Enjoying our lifestyle is why we live this way anyway.&nbsp;<img rel="lightbox" src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" class="bbc_img"><br>I also have a bin of fabric and sewing supplies. I do a lot of refashioning, upcycling, redesigning clothing, but I do it all by hand, no machine.&nbsp;<br><br>I make jewelry too and hair forks and crochet from time to time.&nbsp;<br><br>We both have e-readers with hundreds of books on them. We read and hike a lot.

I have been away for awhile but am back camping again, permanently. We are moving into our camper and pulling away sometime within the next couple of weeks . We are working at a campground for the summer up here on the Alaskan Hwy, where we have spent the winter working at a lodge.

I have done a lot of painting and crocheting this winter.

I enjoy sketching occasionally, with no real talent or patience. Prefer a camera, as I am basically lazy.

Sheryl: DW and and I are heading to Alaska in June. Let us know what campground you're working at, and we'll make an effort to swing by for a day or so,

Thank you! I am going to try some Summit Lake scenes this year. We operate the Stone Mountain Provincial Park Campground at Summit Lake, right on the Alaska Hwy. It is about 1 to 1.5 hours north of Fort Nelson. We are always there, living in the staff compound all summer long and will look forward to seeing you!

I am not into oils and fine art painting, but I am very much into Art! I began with Needlework. I used to have a business designing counted cross stitch patterns and selling them to Needlework shops. From there I got into all kinds of textiles and fiber arts. Eventually papercrafts and beading, too. Now I just put it all together into Mixed Media art. I have been away from the group for a bit and doing the downsizing work. UGH I can't believe how many art supplies one can accumulate in 20 years....

<P><EM>Just jodi,</EM><BR><EM>Its tough getting rid of stuff, I myself stiil do alot of sketching on the road and have tried my hand at watercolour pencils which I quite like cause you&nbsp;don't have to cart alot of stuff around. Those small&nbsp;watercolour art books are a great idea and compact as are the pencils.</EM><BR><EM>Geoff</EM></P>

I have trouble drawing a circle, but give me a torch, a bit of glass, and I'll make ya something pretty! &nbsp;I bring my supplies with me for creating the beads, as well as making jewelry from them, and it's been a sanity saver more than once.&nbsp;<br><br>I've considered selling my pretties from my bus, but have a fear of getting fined for not having a permit or some other legality. &nbsp;Anyone have an experience they can share? &nbsp;I really don't want to do the festival circuit.

I cart around a lot of art and craft supplies in big bins but it's very important to me. It is difficult! I have soft pastels and charcoal that I like to use with sketch pads and paper to go with them, as well as three small buckets of paint and many canvases, also jewelry and hair fork making supplies and fabric for hand sewing in a bin also with yarn for crochet. I have a couple of large storage bins of art and craft supplies that I plan to downsize this summer. We'll see how that goes... They travel in the back of the pick-up in large weatherproof storage bins. (We have a 5th wheel camper)<br><br>Hubby has a few large bins of tools in the back of the truck too, necessities! We also store extra propane tanks, water containers, axe, necessities like extra catfood and toilet paper and so forth there. I don't know what we'd do without the pickup/camper combo! I would recommend a pull behind or 5th wheel combo with a pick-up to anyone starting out. I don't think we would be happy in a one piece RV or van type camper without all of our stuff. <br><br>We are working on cleaning out all the cd/dvds right now, before spring comes. We are putting all movies and music on a storage drive. That will get rid of two milk crates &nbsp; We watch movies on our laptop. We already unloaded three boxes of books when we went to digital readers last fall.<br><br>When we stop to camp for an extended period, like summer work camping, we stash the big bins under the camper. I love our small footprint camping mobile lifestyle, but I don't think we could do it in a van... <br><br><br><br><br>
