Anyone know how I can find auction sources that sell vans formally in a fleet?

Does anyone know how I can tap into buying a van at a fleet auction? I'm thinking of former FedEx, Ryder, etc. vehicles.<br /><br />I'm on the prowl for a killer deal on a full size 3/4 ton Ford, Chevy, Dodge extended van, gas small block, auto trans, hinged side doors, and no windows in the sides or back (Just like blkjak's van).<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />

My bus is a former state prison vehicle, and my daily driver, an '01 4dr 4x4 chevy blazer, was a TVA ( utility company) supervisors truck. Both have had above average maint, and both were bought for way below book value.

I am not sure where you can find civilian fleet auctions but when I was looking for my van a few years ago, I spent a lot of time on the internet and found a few fleet liquidators around the country. You won't get a steal but you won't get terribly wanked either.<br /><br />I know there was a couple in Texas, Arizona and California....<br /><br />The southwest is a good bet for white vans...any one with a fleet that don't use specific colors for advertising, uses white in the southwest since they are much cooler in sun.<br /><br />In addition you won't have the rust so common up nort....<br />Bri

went to a few auctions in Az held by Sierra Auctions.. they handle fleet sales for Mesa, Phx, Florence and tucson, as well as some others <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> &nbsp;didnt end up buying from them though, always got outbid<br /><br />

Les H - What a coincidence as I was just looking at that govdeals.com site a little before you posted this.<br /><br />I spoke to a retired car dealer and he suggested I look for a vehicle in Arizona because they are a lot cheaper than California. magentawave,<br />My company just auctioned off a 3/4 ton yesterday. It was a 2000 ford 3/4 ton extended to 12 feet. They had used it for a passenger van. It was a sweet deal (low miles) for whoever got it (if it sold) I think the starting price was 900 on it. We currently use Iron Planet to auction EOL vehicles. Keep your eye on that website and bide your time. Our vehicles are in NM and AZ. They have some awesome deals. When you get one of them it takes a little scrubbing to clean the dirt off from the copper mine but the price is well worth the effort. PM me and I will give you the email address of the guy that sets up the auction for us. You can also ask if he has one that did no sell.

I've been getting rid of stuff in preparation for life on the road but I'm having a heck of a time finding the right vehicle. I found what looked like a killer deal on a super clean 1992 Ford Class B with only 28,000 original miles but because I waited until the next morning to call them (instead of being obnoxious and calling them in the middle of the night!) I missed out on it and suspect it was sold to the first person that looked at it.&nbsp;
