We were driving west along I-40 in New Mexico today and Tony spotted a solar panel laying between the lanes. He stopped and picked it up. It doesn't look like it's been run over but it's bent on one end. It's a Renogy 100 watt flexible panel like this one - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IK19VF6?*Version*=1&*entries*=0

We tested the voltage and aren't sure if it's been damaged too much to be useful. Does anyone know if it's possible to use or fix a panel if three of the end cells are damaged?

We don't need it so we'll bring it to the RTR for the giveaway tarp or if anyone wants to claim it now let us know.

I didn't know there was a giveaway tent so thanks for the info. I thought of bringing any extra stuff I have and am able to carry to give away. Good to know. I hope whoever lost the panel sees this.

Probably lost by one who promotes attaching solar panels with glue or tape...

Renogy was recommending special feet and super velcro.  Since they have suspended sale of those units (Due to abuse and warranty)  Who knows.

Have that one exactly. Adhered with epoxy. No issues.  Works great.

So far...

Mine are attached with 1/4 inch bolts and large area washers.   They WILL NOT come off unless I take them off.   Additionally, I can tilt my 120 watt Kyocera up to 55 degrees to catch the winter sun.

Tape, glue, velcro and elephant snot not recommend.

OH , I always carry a tube of that stuff !
Never heard the nickname though.

My panel is bolted to my roof rack.
