Hi all, I fell in love with the nomadic lifestyle when I decided to go as far north as somebody could in. I drove a 35 ft lifted monster-truck RV (called the revcon trailblazer) from San Diego to Alaska (AL-CAN highway is a nightmare!) after hitting the Gates of the Artic national park I turned around again, then decided I haddent taken enough nature abuse yet, so hopped on a ferry to Sitka and lived in the woods for three years while working with troubled native alaskan teens.

I've been back home with the family for a few years now (around four I think) and the bug has bit me again. The Revcon is still parked in the back 40, but honestly... it was way too expensive to drive (454 engine with low octane filter... 6 mpg... thats 6 not 16 or 60... 6 mpg) and was an endless source of "omg what an amazing RV! lets go harass the guy sleeping inside by knocking on his door to tell him how nifty we think it is!" ugg... not to mention parking problems, icing problems, height problems... think I'm pretty much done with it.

So... I'm currently outfiting a 97 dodge caravan sport with a hard top into the coolest stealther I can make (on a budget) I might start a blog or something to keep track of the repairs, mods, etc. but its slowly but surely turning into exactly what I want... btw... it has a serta remote controlled hospial bed... because pushing a button to sit up rather than having to move or shift to lean forward or lift your feet is just to pimp for words...

Hope to see ya all out there or hide from you... havent figured out which yet. :p

Hello Blue and welcome to the forums. That Revcon is quite a rig, must have been a great adventure.

Good luck with your project, we love pictures. Any questions you have, there will be someone knowledgable and willing to help, we have a great group of friends here.

Welcome from north Florida, Duane

Hiya Blue!

Yeah, I too would love to see pics of your Revcon. (I actually saw one just the other day!) I love odd and crazy RV's!

Welcome to a great forum!!

well the 94s all pretty much look the same (thats when they had the factory going and built about 90 of em, far as I know other than a handful of custom later models thats all that exist) Yeah it was a hell of a ride, that revcon, made out of welded aircraft alumiminum (basically its a t-150 with an airplane *** end and an extra set of wheels welded to the back of it) did what it was supposed to and didnt break.

I dropped it 8ft into a dry river bed at 40 mph, climbed out of steep muddy trails that three jeeps had gotten stuck in (18,000 lbs gives you a lot of mud digging power) and used the wench to help tow the jeeps out (they were waiting three hours for a tow truck to travel over 100 miles to get to them) and yeah there were times I almost died (like when I nearly skidded off a cliff going over the whitehorse/chicken mountan trail, or when the huge felled tree I thought I could roll over on to my camp fire nearly pinned me underneath far off from any road)

but sadly all that use and abuse has treally torn up the RV, when the heater went out the lines froze and my water tanks and lines burst, then the electrical went out, generator cracked the block, gas tank started leaking from rust (sitka has 94 inches of rain a year) propane heater started leaking, and on and on... I lived the hell out of that RV and have storys for years but getting that thing ship shape again would cost more than the 45,000 I paid for it... still... three years rent free, and four years earning 500.00 bucks a month rented to a vietnam vet as a place to sleep when his weekly girlfriends got sick of him... pretty much paid for itself as far as I'm concerned... heck I could probably recycle the alumiminum and make half that back... but just dont think I have the heart to gut it when I could still win the lottery and bring her back from mossy roofed death.
