As I sit here typing this, I have my heater on in my standard height/average cargo van. About a foot above my head is the ceiling. I can sense it being significantly warmer there then if I reach my hand a little bit below my bed, which is about 16 inches off the floor.
So besides, nonhigh tops being a bit cheaper on gas, you also get the advantage of keeping the heat closer to your body rather than collecting on the ceiling of a hightop van. Might be a big deal if you Are vandwelling in cold climate.
Of course, you hightoppers have that beautiful standing room.... so there's that.
