I signed up for a 1-month free trial offer of Amazon Prime just 2 days ago, but I have not tried it yet. Looking forward to that.

Thanks for all of the great input so far.

Quite often I find non-Prime items with free shipping. I get items delivered on Fridays, Saturdays, even Sunday on rare occasions. Depends on the item and where it is shipped.

I'm on my 3rd year using it. I now buy many of my everyday household items through it instead of going to the store to get it if the price is the same or less. I've noticed more and more prime items are getting more expensive than the competition, which was almost never the case a few years ago. I read they lose a pretty good amount of money offering prime, but it brings in enough business to make it worth their while. But i'm thinking that is also the reason i'm seeing more and more items being more expensive. But it's only on some items some of the time and overall I'm very happy with it and I watch a lot of the free movies/tv shows you get with the membership and figure that alone is worth the price.

Don't think you can use the one month trial to get things and then cancel. When I did that, they billed me for the shipping costs. I didn't find the video/audio content to be anything I was interested in.

I hear you, but if that were true, then the basic concept of a "trial" wouldn't apply to this, and it would in essence be a fraud.  Were that the case, I think people would be raising holy hell about it.  Don't you think?

I tried Prime once and changed my mind, they didn't bill me for the two orders I made. A few months later I went back and rejoined and have had it a couple of years. Works fine for me.

Many people aren't aware you can add other people to your account and split the cost. Technically they have to be relatives, but hey, everyone is my cousin!
