My bad. Lol.
Why anyone would choose a Rover over a Cruiser is beyond me.
Especially after putting so much into a build. But then I've heard the earlier Rover's are legend for off road.
Anyone have any experience or links as to how he did the electric popup and slide outs?
Would love to see cost and details of the electric motor and jacking/sliding mechanisms.
Maybe for a future build?

Slideouts have been bog standard on RVs for a long time, should be able to get a wreck and reverse engineer them

lotta stuff to break. i am sure it is nice when it is new but i wouldnt want something that complicated 20 or 30 years down the road.

wonder what it weighs? those rovers are good rigs but wonder how it holds up to the extra weight

Amazingly compact setup but as with many overland rigs, cramming so much means weight issues.
Load up with water, fuel supplies, quickly reach and probably exceed max capacity.
Always a price to be paid and compromises to be made. Anyone experienced could probably do some weight estimates vs capacity and come up with numbers if so inclined.
But it certainly looks like a sweet setup.

Ingenious build. It is similar in some ways to an Alaskan camper (brand name), a U.S.-built hard sided popup camper, which has been in business for many decades, but I think the slide out is unique.

But IMHO an over cab bed is still superior, as it allows one person to lie down comfortably while the other is cooking or doing other activities.
