25 and I've been dabbling with the notion for over a year now, got stuck on the period required to burn off the sunk cost and waffling over whether I wanted to liveaboard more than the van.

Unemployment after 6 years, a love of climbing, and four months spent living comfortably out of a 22L pack in the caucasus has made me realize that I'd be quite happy doing the van life for a while. Saves money and will act as a "free" storage unit for my few possessions when I head overseas again.

Thus I plan to buy something when I return and spend the winter making it my dream home. I'm very inspired by the classic Super topo stealth van, though I plan to use veneered plywood to shave weight.

Hey there. Good to see another B.C. resident here. ..Willy.

Welcome Tiflis! Do you have any vehicle at all right now, or are you on the Shoeleather Express? I'd love to be able to roam around and climb and explore like you say you can. I'm envious of you. Cheers!

Hey , welcome to the forums , I'm sure there's plenty of info here to help you get set up!

I've got a beat up old motorcycle that gets me out of town, and a bicycle for in town. Never saw much use for the expense of a vehicle otherwise when I would only be using it on weekends. ;)

Welcome! There are quite a few climbers who live in vans so they can travel and climb. It seems like a match made in heaven!

I love the conversion you linked to! Is he still active on that forum? I'd like to email him and see if he would let me repost it here on this website.
