Hi guys!

Proud owner of a newly acquired '84 Chevy C30 '12 box van here. Just picked it up today actually, so I feel like it is finally appropriate to get involved in the community.

A little about me:

I am 24 and from Boston. Always went after practical hands on skills and experience based trades, which I've always enjoyed learning and felt were more important than whatever-bureaucratic-paperpushing degree from *insert school here* for the price of a house down-payment Sadly, the system does not feel that the skills which make the world go round are worth any type of reasonable monetary compensation. So I set out traveling at around 20, getting off the grid piece by piece and letting go of the stranglehold of materialism that capitalist america imposes on us all. I found cheaprvliving around the same time... I was captivated by the idea of living comfortably in a vehicle, and reassured by the fact that there were others who, like me, saw it as an opportunity for a more simplistic lifestyle that was closer to mother earth, and not just a cop out for some ratty hobo. So thank you Bob, for starting a site that has inspired me for many years now. Anyways, I've camped out my car in a tent for about 3 years, and I've now had the good grace to get myself into a box van for $500, exactly when I needed it. So over the next month or so, I will be gutting and rebuilding it, getting ready for the journey to come. Any help, advice, or just well wishes are greatly appreciated... and if anyone is around Southern AZ (Sierra Vista), let me know, I'd love to see some examples in person, and I usually have good beer

oh, and a pic of my new home (yet to be named):
