I love to cook. I've lived around the world and cook food from all over. Not once have I ever heard of thermos cooking and I think it's brilliant! When I finally get my van and take off, I'll be using this idea. As much as I love to cook, I want to keep van life simple. But thermos cooking seems to van life what a crockpot is to a sticks and bricks life. Thanks, cyndi.

It's a great way to cook on the move, and have a hot lunch ready with you. Pasta, rice, hot dogs..... Great in wintertime.

Alas, I smashed up my thermos lining last winter. I'll have to get another one for this winter.

Oftentimes, I buy boar's head deli meat so I don't have to cook the meat before putting everything in the thermos.

Cool, doing this looks like a fun experiment that might come in pretty handy long-term too.

I've had so many problems with thermoses leaking that I've pretty much given up on them. Does anyone here have ones they can swear by not to leak if they get tipped on their side at some point?

I've been experimenting with a 16 oz wide mouth Thermos brand. No leaks. It works best if I mix 1/2 rice and 1/2 quinoa. I'm also happy with hard/soft boiled eggs results. Easy way to cook just one or two.

Thanks TDB.
