4.5# propane tank vs 1# green bottles

Yogi...In many states it's illegal to carry propane inside but many of us choose to ignore that and strap the tank securely out of the way.
Our rig is a rolling bomb anyway...I carry several oxygen tanks, as well as propane.

Bindi&Us thank-U. I have no idea if this is true, but one reason I stick with the small green ones is so the explosion would be smaller, maybe but if I boondocked for any length of.time the bigger ones would be a neccisity. And if I was really worried could.run it out before I travel than fill it when close to wilderness, few times of.this I would be inclined to ignore it and drive carefully as we all do! Thanks!

another thing to consider with those 1 lb bottles is the environmental impact, they may be green but they certainly are not green.

Just a quick FYI, I noticed in Costco yesterday they're selling 5 gallon( 20 pound) propane tanks for $25.

yes a lot of us have refilled them. I don't like to, they tend to leak. if I do I just do one for immediate use. highdesertranger
