2003 Shuttle Bus with the sought after 7.3 turbo diesel.
Located near Tyler Texas. Lots of new parts(will work on getting a better list).
Brand new rear brakes(rotors, pads, callipers and seals). All new tires with less than 200 miles.....new spare. Brand new batteries. New battery cables. All new hoses and belts. Fresh transmission fluid. Radiator has been flushed and filled with new fluid.
Working wheelchair lift. Has 2 window units installed. 30 amp plug. All seats have been removed. There is an RV table installed that can easily be moved. Can include jackknife sofa.
Bus A/C's do work but the new hose got cut. So hose needs to be replaced and recharged with coolant.
Custom trailer hitch. This was a Dallas transit bus so no rust to speak of. 25 ft long. 213,749 miles

I travel in Mexico frequently. I'm a Permanent Resident of Mexico and therefore I must drive a Mexican plated vehicle. I found out the requirements have changed to nationalize a vehicle after I bought the bus. It cannot be nationalized. So I went ahead and got all the work done on it and now I'm selling it so I can buy something I can legally drive in Mexico.
Any other questions that have nothing to do with the bus?

Lol^^^ It might make a difference to someone like you planning to live in Mexico! Sorry it didn’t work out for you. What kind of problems did you run into? I have seen many vehicles being towed/taken from the USA into Mexico I assumed to be sold there.

Every now and then they change what years and types of vehicles can be legally imported. The importer told me that because it's a diesel it must be 2005 or newer. Kind of makes sense. Everyone wants the 7.3L diesel because it's built like a tank. After 2004 they put all kinds of epa stuff on vehicles that means they aren't nearly as good. I'm sure there is a Green New Deal something or another involved. Not that some buses in Mexico don't resemble mosquito foggers.
On the vehicles you see being towed to Mexico. I do not know for sure but I have some educated guesses. I'm sure they are brought through as 'parts' cars because the tax is cheaper and the process much simpler. I'm also reasonably sure that someone's cousin Maria makes a comfortable living at the Mexican equivalent of the DMV making counterfeit titles and entering them into the computer
Unfortunately I don't have the right cousins to pull that off.
Fortunately I can drive a Mexican plated vehicle in the US. If I try to drive a US vehicle in Mexico it could be seized. There are frequently military and police checkpoints so my chances of not being caught are slim. I can drive it in the free zone but I like to go further in.

Not for the average person. For anyone on a tourist visa it's not a problem. You get your tourist visa and a TIP (temporary importation permit) for your vehicle and you are good to go.
My problem is that I was retired in Mexico full time. So I had to get either a Temporary or Permanent visa. Tourist visa is maximum 6 months. I had planned to stay right where I was for the rest of my life. Then covid came along and destroyed my kidneys. I had to move back to the US to get a kidney transplant. Now I can't move back to Mexico full time because of needing specialized medical care.

That part was disappointing but not crushing. Not being able to walk or do things for the last 3 years has been devastating. Finally about 3 weeks ago it was like a switch was flipped on and I can walk! I still need my wheelchair for going into stores but I am walking better each day. Trying to have patience with myself. Not going to regain 3 years of not being able to use my muscles overnight.
Also a lot of the horrible brain fog has gotten better!
I'm not dead yet.....still eager for more adventures!

So can’t you get temporary visas anymore…? I know it sounds redundant! But at least for your vehicle… you did a lot of work on it. If someone picked this one up they’d gain a good home on wheels!!

Unfortunately I cannot. Mexico has put in a lot of work on their computer systems. In the last 5 years or so their computers have gotten very reliable. The moment I present my Passport to get a permit it pops up that I'm a resident.
A way around this would be to put it in someone else's name and then have a letter of permission allowing me to drive it but I don't have anyone that I could do that with.
It is a heck of a bus. In addition to everything above I had the motor rebuilt. New head gaskets. Had any injector that didn't show 100% replaced as a preventative. I was wheelchair bound when I bought it and told him to make it bomb proof. Bomb proof is expensive!
I'm going to end up talking myself out of selling it lol.
