Hello all.

Glad to be aware of this place now. I bought this Van in '01 after returning from spending 3 years travelling overseas.

My first forays into Van dwelling was in South Africa, in a '73 Westfalia, and after 2 weeks I was hooked. I lived in that Vw for 9 months, then a Holden Sedan in OZ for 13 months, then a Nissan Van in NZ for 9 months, and more time spent vehicleless in other countries along the way

I've got a pretty good deal going on now in terms of parking, and comforts.

I've spent way too much time and money making the ultimate rolling man cave over the last decade. But now I am little discontent with this life, but can't imagine living in a stick and brick, paying somebody else's mortgage, and toeing the line of American style consumerism.

I Hope to be able to contribute what I learned along the way in my travels, how I turned my Van into the mechanically sound rolling man cave/ office/ workVan, to those interested.

Hope this finds you all well.

Greetings and Welcome! This is a good place for information because of the great membership we have here!

Hello, wrcsixeight, welcome to the group! it sounds like you have led a very interesting life with all that foreign travel. I imagine most of us here will envy you that! Going to NZ has always been at the top of my bucket list.

Do you mind if I ask you what your discontent with the life is? Like you, I can't imagine living any other way. Bob

Thanks for the welcome.

Hard to put a finger on the source of discontent, so many things just nibbling at the back of my mind, making sleep difficult.

Just tired of the judgement of Friends/Family acquaintances who cant realize I never wanted what they wanted and worked for.

My feet are getting real itchy, but the funds are too low to leave my comfort zone, and as much travelling as I have done, I did it all alone.

Welcome to the tribe. Pics, pics, pics .....
Alot of the reason that I hang out on this forum is the like minded people here. I don't have to worry about what my friends and family say, I never hear those things here.
