Now that I figured out how to post inline images, (there's a post in the how-to sub forum in News and Announcements I finally read) here's the beginnings of the process, a cad drawing that the company sent me for approval before it went to the production line.

Vern

Almost forgot, ordered it with the trim uninstalled as the plywood was gonna come right off to insulate.

This!

I dont know if you saw the other thread but I mentioned this would make things a lot easier if you want to add the insulation yourself.

Sure looks like its gonna be a nice one...

I did see that and thanks... 8 zillion staples I didn't have to deal with!

Very cool!   :D

Just curious, was there any talk of price adjustment for leaving the paneling loose?

I hope they did not charge you extra for doing LESS work....but you never know...

By the way, its more like eight and a half zillion staples!

:p

Sadly, I didn't even think to ask...

They did include quite a bundle of the luan strips as well as some metal that I assume was for the back corners.Didn't use any of it in the final product.

Depending on what you're pulling it with of course, I think a 6x12 V nose is an ideal size for a conversion. The V could actually be enclosed for a porta pot/bathroom, then squared off from the entrance to make finishing the interior easier.
I'll have to follow your build. :)

Here's the first few steps. Hope I've reduced file size to a manageable level.

1x2framing.jpg
Making up the first of the 1x2 framing with glue and a kreg tool(pocket screws)
doing this to hopefully save a little weight.

bedframe.jpg
Outline of the initial bedframe and my first big screw-up. Would have been much easier
and faster if I would have paneled the whole interior before doing anything else. Live and Learn.

Although my tow rig has a 9k towing capacity I'm trying to keep it as light as possible, the rig is 95% finished at this point and including the 275 pounds for the solar and batteries I'm grossing about 600 pounds more (dry) than when I brought it home. I'm hoping for somewhere around 2k ready to go full of water. Decided to go with a good shower/poop tent and have more room for kitchen and a little table.

During the build of my trailer, (the first stage) I considered an outside shower. I would either fabricate or buy a store bought shower tent that attached to the left rear side and install an outside shower at roughly 7 feet or so above ground level. Then feed that with a pump and hoses from an inside tank.

That may still happen when I complete the final build of both a new power unit and the existing trailer.

My plans are still on hold right now but hopefully I can resume soon.

Here's some more progress...

mocking up the kitchen

sink.jpg
The sink is a steam table pan I got for $15. Drilled a hole and now it's a sink!

battery box.jpg
The battery box and the porta pot storage  are fairly well sealed and have their own vent
.

upper framing.jpg
Building the face frames, to save weight I chose to not build complete boxes then hang them.
This part sucked... the cargo box isn't plumb and square. It's a 20 footer for sure :)

I tossed around the idea of enclosing the open barn doors for the shower but time is running out so shower tent it is! A weed sprayer is the shower. Used it a bunch of times in the S&B, other than needing a couple more feet of hose it works great.

As they should.  :p

From your terminology I suspect you are ho stranger to cabinetry and building.

I've done a bit of carpentry... Not a real fan of wood, it doesn't stay where you put it :-/  Done allot of machine work and fabrication. was going to do all the interior framing out of aluminum until I priced it out.... damn.

P.S. "ho stranger" ??? :)

Haha, I do too much typing without enough light at times. "No" stranger were the intended words to be written. :p
