    Replace window glazing gasket?

I need to know about this stuff. http://www.all-rite.com/hehr-glazing-bead-seal Particularly, how well does it bend around the corners of the window and still seal? The comer radius seems rather tight, 2 or 3 inches.  Thanks.

    Thanks INTJohn, great info.

    Instant/tankless hot water heaters

Thanks! Cold temps are not a problem since if it's that cold, I'll go somewhere else. I winter in Mexico. My hot water demands are not severe, hot water to wash my face and hands, dishes, a shower every now and then. It's almost one of those things that "would be nice". The Girard fits right...

    Instant/tankless hot water heaters

I'm thinking of changing over to a tankless hot water heater. Does anyone here who uses one have an opinion either way? Good? Bad? Ugly? I'll be replacing a 6 gallon tank heater.  Thanks

Black Friday, Do they have to ruin everything.

Never in my life have I shopped on Black Friday. Never have and never will. I'm going to buy a few nice, small things for the people I care about and that'll be it, I'm not going to spend more than $100 total.

    Baja and El Nino

I want to winter in La Ventana but I'm worried about the possible effects of El Nino. I'm worried that the weather will just be crazy sever, roads will wash out and I'll be stuck down there (maybe not the worse thing in the world but I simply have other plans). Has anyone spent enough time down...

    Caravanning down Baja in December

I want to drive my rig down to La Paz or La Vantana in early December. It's been recommended to me that I drive with a group to be safer. Is anyone doing this? I don't want to pay, I don't need a tour, I just want to drive with a group until I get to the end. Thanks

solar panel wires through the roof

This is a photo of the Combiner Box I got from AM Solar. Typically the wires from the panels run into in and then a wire runs right out of the bottom of the box, through the roof, and to wherever you want it. I had a roof vent nearby so I didn't need to go through the roof.

    Got my Solar Kit!

I sent an email with the diagram to AM Solar and told them I'd be calling in the morning. When I called, Roger answered and he ran me through a few checks, made a few suggestions, asked me to take a photo and then call him back. Before I could take the photos and send them to him he called me...

    Got my Solar Kit!

Well, I was waiting for so odds and ends and wires but today I finished it all up. I received the cables to connect the batteries on Thursday, left work early hoping to instal them and get the system up and running. My buddy sent me extra beefy cables, which was real nice of him, except that...

    A Headliner question.

    Good idea, thanks.

    A Headliner question.

My headliner, is starting to sag and come apart at one of the seams. Probably one of these days I'll replace the whole thing but right now it's just that one spot. I was thinking that I'd run some wide tape over the whole seam and then maybe a thin strip of wood and screw that back up to the...

USB charging via the Auto battery

    This is great information, thanks!

USB charging via the Auto battery

Once an item like that is charged, does the battery keep sending power? You (I) would think that once the item is charged it is no longer sucking power.

USB charging via the Auto battery

Thanks, So, given that I have easily accessible USB powered from the solar charged batteries, it just makes sense to use those connections when I'm boondocking. I was just thinking if I accidentally left an item plugged in while I was gone from the rig. Thanks again.

USB charging via the Auto battery

If I were to charge my iPad and iPhone via USB from my auto battery, it would pretty much take forever for those two items to drain the battery, wouldn't it? Even if, let's say, I was boondocking for two weeks? I'll have other USB ports that run directly from my coach batteries (charged via...

    Got my Solar Kit!

I appreciate your concern and I might replace it but I just looked and all of the 110 is run with solid wire. The rig is 17 years old and everything works fine so far, I'm going to take my chances.

    Got my Solar Kit!

Yes I did. All the rest was stranded but what I bought was not, I never even thought about it. Is it a big enough deal for me to get under there and run that wire a THIRD time? Almost, The RV tech I had out the other day told me it was as east as running the power wire to the RV (vs. Auto) 12v...
