Thinking about trading my truck in...

Thank You for all the responses !!! It's been so busy I haven't checked my email in awhile. I live in Pennsylvania. Stealth isn't my number one concern but of course it might come in handy. Yeah I guess the stealth factor would go down. I'll check out the link you posted River Man. Much...

    2014 Tundra Bed Liner

Short answer is more room. It seems the bed liner just eliminates some space, it has to be smaller than the bed to fit inside.

    2014 Tundra Bed Liner

Hi All.  Anyone pull the bed liner out ? It looks like I'm losing a few inches everywhere, especially in the front bottom corners of the bed.  Thanks, Joe

Thinking about trading my truck in...

Thank You ALL for the responses. I like the idea of a cargo trailer. I'm guessing that would not increase the stealth factor overall ? Number one I don't have to ditch my truck. Number two the cost is reasonable and warranted. Number three it seems like a fairly practical solution. Ok so around...

Thinking about trading my truck in...

After adding a fiberglass topper with a four inch rise to my truck, I'm now considering going to a van. My truck is a 2014 Tundra 4X4 extended cab 6.5 box. I bought it new and it's paid off. 65,000 miles without a hiccup. I like to keep my vehicles for ten years but the van will give me much...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

I'm going to bungee a section of pool noodle on my head, that should work :) . Seriously though I don't seem to have a problem. I'm 5'9" on a good day and the cap has quite a bit of rise. I'd say 5 inches. The cot is only 13 inches high, I can sit on that without hitting. I have to squeeze some...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Picked it up today. I'm happy with it. I can definitely feel the weight difference. I'll probably sleep out in it tonight although I don't have great padding. We have company and the kids are using the futon mattress :)

Anyone living in a shortbed pickup with cap? Am I dreaming or is it doable?

Hi Tom. I'm in the process of doing the same with everyone's help on this site. I'm trying to keep it very simple and modular to start. My cap will have have appx 5" rise. Teton makes a cot that the wheel well doesn't interfere with. I've also purchased mosquito netting for sleeping with the...

    Recommended water jug

Thank you for the great suggestions guys !!! I went ahead and ordered the bigger nemo tonight. I'm starting to spend more time at a cabin right now just too break out of my rut. It has  no running water and a generator that I won't start LOL. I still have a few years left to work as it stands...

    Recommended water jug

Thank You very much guys. Will do. I'm also looking at the sprayer with the foot pump. (Helio Nemo) Not cheap but perhaps worth it. Good for showers and dishes.

    Recommended water jug

Hi All, I was just on Amazon looking for a good jug with a spigot. Seems all the reviews are complaining about fragility, especially with the spigots breaking/leaking as well as three can itself not holding up. Any recommendations ? Thanks !!! Joe P.S. Also looking for a portable shower...

    What tire works for you?

I agree, they cost. In my almost 40 years of driving the most I've gotten out of any tire was about 25K miles out of the Dunlop radial rover AT..they don't make them anymore lol. Now with these Michelin first set got 40, and I never got mad cause they perform pretty good off-road..I didn't wanna...

    What tire works for you?

General Grabber AT2 is worth looking at. Some sizes come with 17/32 tread depth. Good beefy tire, good in snow too. Don't expect a quiet ride as they will develop quite a drone after about 5000 miles. Mr tundra came stock with Michelin LTX AT2s. I'm very impressed. It's basically a street tire...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Got my first accessory tonight. Early father's day present. It's Somnia ultralight camp cot made by Teton Sports. It is 74 long by 28 wide by 15 high. (Inches) It will clear the wheel well, has some firmness adjustment, and folds up fairly compact. I didn't even take it out of the box yet, but...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Guys/Gals thank you for all the responses so far. Today I called and ordered the fiberglass raised roof. Standard tail (no door) sliding screened Windows, two locking handles on the corners instead of one in the middle. Sliding front window to match the truck. Got the coating/covering. Had half...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Great pics TX2 !!! Thanks. I spoke to an A.R.E. dealer about 2.5 hours away from me today. You're right, the wait on fiberglass is 5-6 weeks. About 1700 for a fiberglass with a rise. He mentioned carpet covering will keep condensation from dripping on me. Then I'm thinking that's just a recipe...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Excellent points TX2, I've often wondered if the door was more show than go. How are you doing with the aluminum cap ? I've owned both aluminum and fiberglass in the past. Do you have a rise ? The fiberglass seemed sturdier, maybe better insulation but you could always insulate either, Aluminum...

Do truck bed covers improve gas mileage?

I've had tonnou covers on both a Nissan Titan and a Toyota Tundra, my experience is no noticeable our measurable difference. If anything I'd guess the cover on my 6'5 box hurts a bit ass at highway speeds air gets under it and it sorta has done flop from the air bouncing around trying to get...

    Fiberglass Topper Options

Hi All, New to this and starting with what I have. 2014 Toyota Tundra with 6.5 ft bed. I'm interested in a fiberglass topper, 4 inch rise a must, and sliding screened Windows. My question is about the optional center walk in door good for into the bed. Do you think it is worth it ? It replaces...

Has anyone felt like you had to do it NOW ???

Thank you for all the replies !!! Yeah I'm in no hurry. I have virtually no dept, I do have hopefully only 6.5 years until I can retire at minimum age. Retiring before that isn't out of the question but not as practical. I'm looking for a used raised truck cap for my Toyota Tundra 6.5 ft bed...
