For what its worth.....2005 Dodge Cummings 5.9...now has 320k miles.  the first 295k was done pulling a 4 car trailer. Other than belts and breaks and a water pump no issues. I have a 2005 Dodge 3500, Cummings diesel  5 speed crew cab with 8ft bed....on my last trip from Florida to Yuma AZ....with a 8ft Truck Camper and towing a 16ft enclosed trailer with motorcycles gross weight 2500 lbs....I averaged between 15-17 mpg....I try not to  exceed 60 mph. at this speed...

Ok guys here is the question....what are the disadvantages, if any, in using a  portable type 'smart charger'  as opposed to a permanently installed RV type charger/controller? I currently have an older TC with the original charger/converter, which I am sure is probably not a 3 stage charger...

Its not the same as an Airstream....It would require deanodizing the whole unit. then buffing....It has been done, but its a lot of work...and then has to maintained. So No....I kinda like that look, plus it will fit in nicely in the remote areas I like to camp....

Actually it is very light. I think around 1700lbs..lighter than my 8ft newer wood TC. The all aluminum construction is great and any water damage doesnt hurt the structure . Yeh a classic truck would make a great visual. however with this rig I know i will get where I want to go  ;) No pics of...
