    Hammock use/install

I have a double nest hammock and have used it in a 6 x 12 cargo trailer. I mounted a piece of unistrut vertically, one near the back doors and the curb side and one about 11ft forward of the back doors on the street side. I then used a 3/8 eye bolt and twirl nut on each mounting point to hang a...

Best DIY roll on roof sealant?

I used Henry's 587 on the roof of my 6 x 12 trailer. It was highly recommended on another site that I frequent. ! gallon was enough to put 2 good coats on it.  I bought it at one of the big box home places.

220V single phase amps to watts

You mention that the fed to the house is 220V single phase with 2 hot and a neutral wire.  What is the AC unit fed with? The important part is whether it has a bare or green equipment grounding conductor?  If so it is a 220 volt appliance, the bare or green equipment grounding conductor is not...

    Fuse vs Circuit-Braker

Also remember to use the correct type of circuit breaker or fuse. Many common circuit breakers are inverse time trip, which means the breaker will trip faster if the overcurrent condition is larger. A 15 amp circuit breaker may stay in the closed position a long time with 16 or 17 amps on it...

    12v or 24v or 48v

My understanding of why 12 volt dc in vehicles is common today is that in the 1950s when automobile engines became bigger and had higher compression the starter motors were struggling to turn them over, so the industry switched to 12 volts to try provide more torque. Also doubling the voltage...

    Electricity for Noobs?

I agree with High Desert Ranger.  I am a electrician, have been in the field since 1984.  Even spent a few years as a State Electrical Inspector in Minnesota.  I am unaware of any reference in the National Electric Code or (NFPA 70 or NEC) from 1984 - 2017 editions that specify that a 15 amp 125...

    Comfy no-heat warmth solution

I just recently slept outside in a sleeping bag in the back of a pickup with a shell on it.  I was curious about how cold it would be. I put a piece of 3/4" polyiso foil faced insulation on the pickup bed. I have a 0 degree rectangular sleeping bag I bought online for about 65 bucks, I also had...

Using 120v electric blanket on inverter

:shy: I used a Simpson meter many years ago with mirror. Brings back memories.  Most people I work with now do not know what parallax is.  ?

    a wiring

In AC power wiring the ungrounded conductor/s are usually switched, there are times that the grounded conductor associated with the ungrounded conductor is also switched as in a 120 volt gas pump. I have seen many DC circuits with the switching in the ground wire, there must be a reason although...

    Self tapping screws?WTF

I think what you may have gotten are "self taping" screws for light gauge sheet metal like ductwork. If you find "self drilling" screws they will drill their own pilot hole through thicker metal and should work better.

Beet Harvest in Montana for Couples Only

I'm a little late to this thread but I live on the east edge of the Red River Valley and know people who work the beet harvest. The people I know that work the harvest are individuals, not couples or teams. They work directly for the farmer, most are driving trucks from the fields to the piling...

Chevy 2wd Crew Cab V8 What can I tow?

I have had a few Chevy pickups from a 2005 to 2017, all have been 1500 series and the tow/haul button has been on the end of the transmission shift lever. Other posters have mentioned the label in the the door jamb, glove compartment and under the hood. These all have useful information.

Which cargo trailer would you choose?

I bought a Pace that is very close to the one you describe. Barn doors in back, RV side door, added 6 inches of height and two 15 x 30 Windows. I replaced the roof vent with a fantastic fan and I am insulating it now. It has smooth walls a V front with the diamond plate and it is a very close...
