Drumming Circle on Monday 12/15 at the RTR!

I'm happy that it went well. I would have loved to have come as a spectator had it been held here in camp.

    “Nightlife” at RTR 2018

I firmly believe that those of us who enjoy the nightlife and a more relaxed atmosphere should have an entirely separate event. The RTR will never accept, or even understand, our desire to occasionally create a party atmosphere. Frankly, I'm 47 and I want to have as much fun as possible before...

Official DATES for RTR 2018: Rules and Maps

If you camp at the main RTR site, you won't have loud music - just generators. There is rarely loud music in the Music camp. A lot of the noise stuff has been blown way out of proportion.

    “Nightlife” at RTR 2018

It's difficult to have any sort of night time social event because there are a lot of complainers even in the Music camp. It is typically really dull here. Honestly, most evenings I may as well have remain camped out by myself.

Official DATES for RTR 2018: Rules and Maps

As for the gentleman with the loud music and two dogs, I had a really pleasant conversation with him yesterday evening. He saw me walking my dog and called me over because our dogs are so similar in appearance. He was really nice, relaxed and funny, BUT he is definitely a guy who reacts...

Drumming Circle on Monday 12/15 at the RTR!

I am enjoying the morally superior tone of the comments written by the anti-sound brigade. I find it quite amusing. I feel like I didn't travel to a rendezvous, but to a desert hospice center for the terminally annoyed. The RTR signs should be removed and replaced with signs reading GET OFF MY LAWN.

South Dakota may not be for you if you owe on student loans

That is absolutely insane. My student loans, all $30,000 of them, are up to date, but how does SD expect you to make payments if they take away your license? Why not go ahead and toss us into debtors prison?

The Fight for RV dwellers and van dwellers

The little city in Upstate New York where I come from bans ALL overnight on-street parking. As a homeowner there, I loved it. I didn't even like my neighbors parking in front of my house during the day, let alone strangers during the night. I'm not fan of "stealth" camping, though I do...

    Newbie here!

My escape has been slower than expected too. You are right -- something always comes up! Fingers crossed, I'll be headed out immediately after Thanksgiving, just like you.

    East of the Mississippi newbie

I'm new here too - and very east and north of the Mississippi. In fact, I'm only a few minutes from the Hudson River right now. The big thing that stands out about the east, as you know, is the lack of free camping compared to the west. I have been trying to plan my trip south, and even the...

    New Fulltimer

Hello folks - I have now been living in my homemade camper for just over a month. I'm currently next to a beautiful creek near Saratoga Springs, NY, but I am hoping to finally begin moving southward this week. It's too damn cold to linger here any longer.  I'm going to head towards to North...
