    Mice!

Schipperke!  Wiki link Youtube of Schipperke hunting for a mouse in snow:  I have one. If he sees a squirrel or mouse, that's the last I see of it for the duration. He hasn't caught one (to my knowledge) because the little nature critters just don't stay around! No mouse problems here.

    Tire Rolling Resistance

Just a note: Those tire with hard compounds do great for gas mileage, but they're slippery as hell on snow. Harder compounds may also break and crack when on rocky roads. get tires based on how you're going to be driving otherwise you may be unsafe in some situations. Horses for courses.

Drones will darken the skies of federal lands.

Nah, computers will do the flying and analysis. First human intervention will be when the computer asks if further action is needed on a perceived anomaly. The question is: "What will be anomalies?"

The current plan is a roof rack over the entire roof. Three large 330W panels will cover the entire front of the roof leaving about six feet uncovered in the rear. The bottom of the panels will be about 7 inches above the roof; the fantastic vents will open up under the panels. The rear six feet...

On to the next thing: the spice rack. Checking for size. Paint, thread the paracord, and mount. The biggest trick was figuring out how to run a single strand through all the holes and never go through the same hole twice. I did paracord on the back side, 1/2" from the wall, so stuff...

You're welcome. The latches work and look fairly good in place, but they're also kinda cheaply built. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AQINRC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Dude, give me some time. :P I'm a fairly competent electronics repair tech. Used to repair...

And the right side... top drawer is my toiletries. Then my junk drawer...have no idea what's really going to last here, but I kept on finding stuff I needed to ferret away and had no place to put it. And cleaning supplies at the bottom. That's about it for now. Living in my driveway...

That's it for construction this time, but I've also done a lot of packing. It's funny to think that two years from now there will probably be quite a few changes to the items and locations...but...you gotta start somewhere. Food cabinets Clothes cabinet above bed. I've moved out of my...

The other USB outlet is above the bed in the bottom of the clothes cabinet. It's a rather disorienting picture..you'll figure it out. The outlet has two USB connectors in it. Last bit of building was the electronics cabinet door. Made a little goof on the pocket routed out for the charge...

I'm sick of running all my electronics of an extension cord and plug strip, so I installed my 12V to USB power outlets. You can see the one lonely wire now going to the top of the third switch bank to the left. One outlet bank is mounted in the end door of the electronics cabinet above the...

Even though they're not as visually dramatic as previous posts, progress continues. First thing was to put my temporary gray water tank back in. It's one of those blue cubes. Fits nice, but it doesn't have a drain, which means I have to pull all the drawers on that side to take out the tank to...

    Building Arabella

Maybe a little, but my goodness, a really fine build you've done there. Just goes to show with determination and good thinking these van rigs can be quite comfortable homes. Big thumbs up!

What are the best mppt controllers these days?

I've got the MorningStar ProStar 40A unit, their latest MPPT controller. I'll  mention it because not many here likely have experience with it as it's new. I can't really comment too deeply about it because I hooked it up six months ago, set the settings for my 6V GC2 batteries, and it's been...
