    The Maglite Billy Club

I have had mine for about 30 years also. I just saw a LED conversion lightbulb on amazon that I ordered. I'm 6'4" and about 250 lbs so I might have an advantage using this as a weapon. My wife has the pistol and has proven to be a reliable backup if I need one so after weighing all of that I...

Your thoughts on a Container home

The biggest draw back about Apache County for us is the wind. Other than that its really nice. Lots to explore. People are friendly. If you ever get down this way you can camp on our land and see how you like the area. We have 2.2 acres and the start of a fence and decent driveway and plenty of...

BLM lands and our "non-politics" rule?

A fence is "Nothing"? You can't cross a fence with your vehicle so it effectively prevents access. What's so hard to understand about that?

BLM lands and our "non-politics" rule?

I didn't say Ranchers keep you off of BLM land. I was attempting to say that BLM and State land policies of building fences that protect cattle ranching is often more important than our interests as campers. No misinformation at all. You have a habit of being snarky. Just saying.

    The Maglite Billy Club

We heard a bump in the night last week and I got up and went outside to check it out. Nothing as usual. I have guns but I never take them with me on such occasions. I always take my 6 D Cell Mag Lite. It's a great self defense tool. You can point the light in someone's eye while letting the rest...

    You Ain't Right Club

My wife got a "real job" in town with the normal people. They refer to us as the "Wackadoos" that live in a tiny trailer. I'm good with that.

Your thoughts on a Container home

We bought cheap land in Eastern Arizona that allows almost anything. It's in Apache County and they don't seem to care what you do. I understand that on the books they don't allow shipping containers on property without first getting a building permit but it happens all the time around here and...

BLM lands and our "non-politics" rule?

Yep, they don't have to sell it to keep us out. Back in the 70s you could go just about anywhere on BLM lands. There was very little restrictions. Now I see lots of roads that have fences on both sides that prevent any access. They checker board BLM with State lands and lease them to cattle...

    firearms

I have three 22 long rifle firearms myself. The ammo is cheap and I believe it's enough to get most jobs done. I feel it's plenty for self defense. There are some great YouTube videos that prove itself as a self defense weapon. I especially like the Ruger SR22 for consealed carry, The Colt 1911...

    BUYING LAND

Concho, Arizona is cheap. Clean and safe too. We lived in our van for 2-1/2 years before we got a travel trailer and bought a couple acres there. Great mild 4 seasons climate. Low crime. We got 2.2 acres with a paved road right in front of our place. The road has electric, telephone and cable...

    We painted our Van Camouflage

I would post more still images but it requires a http address so I'm not sure how to do that without a website.

    Personal experiences in Eugene, Oregon

It's been about a year and a half since I was boondocking in Eugene but I was doing full time there for 8 months when we did. There are a lot of great places to park in Eugene within the city limits. I really liked the south side best. I never had any trouble but we were very considerate towards...

    We painted our Van Camouflage

It was silver color originally. We insulated the ceiling and walls with two layers of 1/2" polyiso board and then 1/4" luan plywood so we haven't noticed any difference. We have a Fantastic vent installed as well. Since they are flat colors, I imagine it absorbs more heat but we are in West...

    We painted our Van Camouflage

Thanks! It took about 30 hours of sanding and painting. We used 3 coats of Sand color as the base and let it dry in between coats. It only took about 4 hours to paint the other 4 colors over it.
