    Shuttle Stealth?

Well, dog gone it. Here I thought I'd finally decided I'd go with a step van. Now I may have to reconsider! One big advantage for shuttles would be availability. Most of the steps in Seattle/Portland are more expensive, with the popularity of food trucks. I see lots of shuttles that look pretty...

What do you people do while living in your van?

I'm full time. I do pretty much the same things I'd do in a s&b. Work, eat, sleep, computer, clean, read, talk, plan.... What I don't do that I would be doing in a house is feeling anxiety over being trapped!

Serious illnesses while living in van?

I'm so glad for this thread. I dwell on and think about a lot of things, but hadn't really given this much thought. You see, I am invincible with super powers. lol Didn't even think about ICE on the phone. Haven't had one for a year now! For those without family/friends..... for pets, local...

Serious illnesses while living in van?

Another issue to cover in relation to getting sick....... what about your rig? If you end up in the hospital, what happens to your "home"? If you're able, you can make arrangements to have it moved to storage of some sort. But what if you're stealthing and aren't conscious? It could end up...

    Stealth signs

If you're parking in a more industrial or business area, signs would help you blend in. In a residential area, you might get people wondering about your services. At the very least, you'd be noticeable, whatever sign you put up. How about removable signs, use when appropriate?

Going to town Honda ct90 in Arizona

You'll be invisible to most motorists. They can look right at you, eye contact, and still pull out in front of you. If you can make yourself more visible, like a bright helmet?

    Step Van length?

I assume different states have different rules on commercial to rv? Hadn't given it any thought. Bob, did AZ inspect to confirm your van was an "rv"? I have my AZ DL, just need to get back to get an mailing/forwarding service.

    Step Van length?

I so appreciate everyone's input here. Thank you. With the power steering, I just assumed they wouldn't have it. So glad to be wrong on that! Diesel, I'm not going with that. My son is a mechanic, and he doesn't want to work on one, so there 'ya go. I do plan to have a solid wall behind the...

    Step Van length?

So many people are enamored with the notion of having a food truck that indeed the market for the steps is tight. My #1 priority will be that it starts/stops/turns/etc in an appropriate manner that doesn't frighten small children or livestock in the process. And no gaping holes from rust. The...

    Step Van length?

Thanks so much, Grummy. This is all stuff I need to know, just hadn't gotten to the asking yet! Well, and some of your answers, I didn't even know the question! lol Agree about the clear type ceiling, too flimsy and need to insulate anyway. Same with the roll up back door too, want the barn...

    Panic attack

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. At first anyway, don't look so much at the big picture. Break it down to one step in front of the other. Make lists. Oh, and breathe! It's cool that you're doing this with a vintage TT. You'll be popular everywhere you go! It's about like having a...

    Living in an XJ.

I have to chuckle about the snoring. I don't snore, but I have a BIG dog that has lively dreams. Shake the vehicle kind of dreams. Not stealthy. No fix for that! lol

    Step Van length?

I've started to look at step vans on craigslist. I read the ad, it states a length. I see the pic. Huh?? Where are they measuring from? Is it the box itself that's the length or the whole rig, bumper to bumper?

    New South Dakota resident

So, no mail forwarding service in AZ that does vehicle transfers/regs? I have an AZ DL. There's BCM in Quartzsite but hard to navigate site. Might have to "move" to SD. Sounds very easy.

    The Floor.

My 91 Allegro MH had spray foam sprayed ALL underneath, thick. Even the gas tank! Not fun when it had to be dropped to replace the fuel pump. But, the floor was never cold. I don't know if this relates in any way to a van, just thought I'd throw it out there.

    People Wanting To "Help" You

Very few know how I live. Need to know basis, and I can't think of who would need to know. Truly, it's not about you. The concern/judgement they show is more about their feelings, how they think they'd feel in a similar situation. They can't step outside themselves to think of how someone else...

Cargo Van with high top or Step Van?

I think a step van can be stealth in an industrial or commercial area. For long term living comfort, your choice might depend on where you're going to be most of the time. If weather allows you to be outside a lot, you could do with smaller quarters. It occurs to me that a large fridge/freezer...

    Moving......

We went to the meet and greet. Turns out, a lot of the terrible things that were going to happen, aren't. The pet issue... there was actually a no pet rule that was never enforced. Those of us with pets are grandfathered in, and new pets are under 25#. He wants everyone to sign a lease, but if...

    Moving......

I have been looking up what the landlord/tenant laws are here. There is a possibility that the existing pets are grandfathered in, maybe. As far as the folks in rvs, we all have a mo to mo without a written rental agreement. I didn't think about it when we moved in, since that's the way all the...

    Moving......

For me, if the new owner can't be worked with, I can move. There are several other parks that would be okay. There's also the possibility of parking it on someone's property. What is really bad are the people that don't get to do that. The ones in the older mobile homes that can't afford to move...
