What's the smallest vehicle you've seen with cats residing in it?

I have two kittens (rescues from a kitten mill in northern BC) who will be joining me when I hit the road. They are about 9 months old, so they're not *quite* so wild and crazy anymore but they still have a lot of energy, especially around midnight. I have been reading a lot of posts in this...

    Willin’ to be movin’

Welcome Chongolio! I watched a couple of your videos and subscribed. I like how you are using your videos as expressions of art - AND - that they are almost all 5 minutes or shorter. :)

    82 Ford Brougham 18ft Class C

Judging by the condition of the seat covers and the age of the vehicle, I would venture to say that odometer has gone around a few times. Probably more like 240,000 miles or more? Just what came to my mind looking at those pictures.

    Traveling with a cat

I'm not a pro and I'll be watching others' comments with interest, but it seems to me the answer could be yes on both counts. In the first scenario, cat droppings should compost exactly the same as human ones. In the second scenario, you'd just be returning animal waste to nature; it should be...

    Video Editing Software

I have been using CyberLink's PowerDirector for many years and quite like it. It was easy enough to learn the basics on but has a lot of features that I am gradually learning how to use.

WOMENS' FORUM: Do you use your van to take vacations from unhappy husbands

They may. Some hardware stores have "cutting" areas that have helped me in the past. Give them a call. If they don't have a cutting area they can probably direct you to someone who does.

I Want to Make it Myself - DIY Everything

I like this! I have sometimes thought along the same lines. I have a few general how-to books kicking around and am interested in learning more do-it-myself stuff, as well. I think building out my own van will equip me with a lot of new skills. Have you watched the Primitive Technology videos...

Is respecting each other really too much to ask??

Exactly. And some people make trolling a hobby. They get a thrill from getting other folks riled up.

Is respecting each other really too much to ask??

Well said. PS: I'm with you on the Brussels sprouts but whattup with the creamed corn? Who doesn't like creamed corn? :P

My God, It's Full of Stars!

I second this motion. You will miss it and having it will add so much pleasure to your journeys.

being a man and being politically correct or "Elephant in the room"

I use this exact analogy all the time but have never heard anyone else describe it this way. I truly believe it to be true and it helps keep me from feeling too discouraged if the pendulum is swinging the "wrong way" for awhile. Thank you for your well-thought-out post, Stargazer.

being a man and being politically correct or "Elephant in the room"

And if she says no assume she means it. Full stop. No argument, no wheedling. Back off and change the subject.

    Mice...Cats?

It is difficult to train a cat to come when called but you CAN train them to recognize the rattle of the treat bag and they will come running when they hear that. Trust me on this one! :)

    Thanks Mom and Dad

I love this post! I've always lived on the edge and beat myself up over it for not being more "disciplined." I tell myself I take "calculated" risks. Truth is, as you say, predictability is boring. Thanks for this.

    Broken heart by a Non-nomad

I've been living apart from my husband for several months and we are going back and forth on whether to "try again" or not. This is the key thing I have also noticed - my smile and my "self" is coming back. Peaceful heart, as well. What a joy to rediscover what you thought was lost. Hugs...

Coping with a spouse's mid life crisis

I love this! Do it. One of my favorite quotes is, "The best revenge is a life well lived." Make your life the best it can be for YOU and it will be easier (over time) to deal with what you've lost. Sorry this is happening to you but often we find the most catastrophic things are also the...

    Jeremiah's Log

Yikes! It is a miracle you are alive, Jeremiah.

Holy crap it’s cold! What do you do for the trunk?

Yikes! Thankfully you are safe from wind chill inside your car. Would it help to put extra blankets over your feet area to give them more insulation? Maybe use a hot water bottle. Put some reflectix over the whole back door. Just throwing out a few ideas that come to me. I will follow this...

    Jeremiah's Log

Our family used to have a cabin in the mountains of Montana and I remember being startled by the roar of quiet sometimes. It's incredible.

    Jeremiah's Log

I'm sorry you experienced this, Jeremiah. Sometimes it is difficult to believe our fellow human beings can be so uncompassionate. I'm just in the research phase of my emancipation. Haven't hit the road yet but I'm plotting and scheming and doing lots of research. This is a great place to hang...
