Prepper wondering , Now What.

Well, roommates are actually my kids dad and stepmom. LOL It just avoids a lot of questions by calling them roommates. I was moving to a bigger rental with my 15 and 19 and the other parents became suddenly homeless the weekend they were helping US move. So, naturally I invited them to join us...

    hello:)

Actually, this is only if you register as a homeschooler with your local county. We always went through an umbrella school and we never even had to do that. Our "school" kept our records, provided a transcript, and WE chose what testing our kids had. All of our homeschooling experience was in...

Stealthing...how QUIET and STILL are you?

I understand the teacher thing. That makes a lot of sense! Parents tend to rush to the worst conclusions first when it comes to their children's safety. Not that I would ever do that as a mother...<img src="/images/boards/smilies/rolleyes.gif" class="emoticon...

    Prepper wondering , Now What.

Lots of sensible replies here. I am currently stocking up at home due to rising food prices. I feel that in a true cataclysmic situation, anything can happen and I will probably have the wrong stuff anyway. I am more concerned with water first, especially because we have septic, so if the power...

    hello:)

Private message me. I can give you resources for covering your butt. The last thing you need is a knock on the door from the wrong person who thinks you do not school your child because you reside in a vehicle. There are plenty of cheap, easy ways to avoid this.

I feel like I've found my people!!!

Thank you again for the warm welcome! I have started jumping in all over the place and also private messaging a few hellos. This group is every bit as wonderful as I suspected when I first found you. I am so happy to find a place where unconventional is as normal as the sun rising every day. Yay!!!

    hello:)

Forgot to say that I did homeschool for several years, so I am well versed in compliance with the laws while in strange circumstances.

    hello:)

I am a single mom. I've never done anything like this with little ones, but I never had just one 3 yr old. I think you are smart to do it now while your child is young enough and adaptable enough. This could be the perfect way to find a place you will fall in love with when school rears its...

Stealthing...how QUIET and STILL are you?

I am happy to read the last few posts. Perhaps I am missing something, but I just don't get what the big deal is about stealth. Perhaps it's just the people trying to stay in one place? I am going mobile in order to kiss the corporate life goodbye. But I suppose if you are just trying to live in...

Is it paranoid to think someone might want to steal my dog?

While I do think we have bigger worries, I don't think it's totally unreasonable to imagine pets being stolen. As some posters have already mentioned, it does happen. I would be heartbroken if anything happened to my Annie. Corgis are a popular breed, and she is a mini, bred from two healthy...

First night...run in with the COPS

ROFL as I imagine everyone reading this a d trying to make "cop faces"! What would a cop face look like anyway? Serious? Smug? High on authority? Sincere?

Some of those are hysterical! I'm crazy enough to buy a sandwich tent!

What brings you to this lifestyle?

I have read this thread twice in the last week. I am so blessed to find this forum of people who understand my need for movement. My aunt and uncle bought a Winnebago bus (now I know it was a class A) when I was around 10. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world! A house that could go...

Any experience with 99' Coachman Leprechaun??

Bigred, I wondered if proper maintenance (or lack of) was the main issue of leaky windows. I am prepared to do whatever maintenance necessary since I plan on driving it until its dead. I figured that if leaks were that much of a problem, surely the manufacturing end would have been corrected...

    Hello!

Welcome! I joined recently and the topics here have shown me I can go much smaller than originally planned. Yay! I look forward to getting to know all of you!

    Prepper wondering , Now What.

I was reading your comment about a storage space and I remembered that I am currently prepping for a family! When I am in the mobile life it will only be me and Annie and the family will be my storage space. Duh! LOL I am sure I can keep enough with me for just the dog and I.

    Prepper wondering , Now What.

I know a lot of people bury, but I also want to have enough with me at all times if I can't get to the spots where it's buried. I guess vacuum bags would make the most of every inch of space.
