Hello to everyone

This post is to introduce myself to the forum. I am 61 married and live in a suburb of Chicago. I have a small business I could move anywhere in the country. Part I could move, part I could try to sell or just give up. I have a small ranch house that is underwater like most folks in America. At 62 I could collect SS and continue to work, Like most I have credit card debt and one car payment. I would like to move and still operate my business. And to start living life, whatever I have left. I have been thinking about the RV life for some time. Areas I like are Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia. I would need to be close to a city to run my business. I cannot see running it out of a RV. I need to ship and receive what I sell. I need to be able to do that and have permanent phone, internet. I know I will probably work til I die, and that is okay. I need the income, have no real savings. A customer of mine came in from Florida on Monday. He is a retired police officer in his early 40's who made good choices early in his life. He is now pretty free to do what he wants. I would like some suggestions of how one can start over at the point I am at in my life. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Tommie and Welcome&nbsp;<img src="/images/boards/smilies/wave.gif" alt="" align="absmiddle" border="0" /><br /><br />I plan on traveling all the time and sell my stuff online. You can ship from anywhere there is a post office and as for a phone... I will use my cell phone. I think you are in the same situation as a lot of people you just need to make a decision in what you want in your life and then you will know what to do. If you van dwell you won't need as much money as you do now so you could work part time if you wanted.&nbsp;<br /><br />Whatever you decide.... good luck on your adventures. HuggZ

Hi Tommie, welcome to the forum. There are many here in the same boat, so dont fear, someone will chime in. I, myself, have at least 2 more years as a part timer traveling all I can manage. I'll probably bring tools on the road, as I will have to work untill three days after I'm dead, I just won't lie down :0)........

Thanks to everyone for the reply. My wife and I are taking a trip to Tennessee next month. We will be looking at a year round RV park near Clarksville. She wants to start this lifestyle as much as I do.We are thinking if we find an area we like that we can afford, then we can find a RV or in our case a 5th wheel and then make the move. We will buy somthing used and probably stay there for good. Any ideas on what models are better than others. I understand most parks do not allow units older than 15 years. I will have to find a small office for business since I have UPS deliveries and pickup every day. I willbe checking in more often now since we have abetter idea of what we want to do.
