Nothing but a fuel stop on I-10. Had already decided to head to Silver City, NM. Made the rounds in Tombstone years back. I like the sky islands because they are cooler. Spent the night at Madera Canyon and was nice there.

Gideon, I came real close to turning right on 90 and coming through Sierra Vista and on to Bisbee. In Benson now. I visited Tombstone back in late 80's. A to do stop if in the area.

Is there a decent route to Green Valley from Flagstaff without going through Phoenix that anyone knows of?

I'm north of Flagstaff at the moment. Windyyy.... Was thinking of stopping in for a few days, but not really ready for 20's at night. May go on further south. Somewhere there is more active birds and other wildlife. Or good place to rockhound.

Thanks hdr.. Some one I ran across said it was 13 miles of wash board. Hard to believe it would have many visitors if that was so.

Is the road to Bodie pretty rough or just unpaved? I'm in the area and wanted to take a run to it. Wash board roads in my short wheel base isn't a joy. lol. Going to run back up the road towards Bristlecone Pines this morning for some photos that I didn't get yesterday then thinking to Bodie.
