I had a 1995 E-250 that acted similar to that and I also thought transmission issue. Took it to local Ford dealer and turned out to be rear speed sensor. Cost around $100-$125 to get replaced best I remember. You may be as lucky as I was.

State officials are saying there is not a legitimate gas shortage here in Texas. Social media got rumors going about a shortage and became self full filling. Hopefully in a few days or less after all that believe that have filled all their cars and containers the lines that are going on now...

Regarding the IR thermometer---if you point that at a window that has a cloth/other type barrier on the inside of the vehicle, are you getting the temp of the glass or the temp of the barrier? Tinted glass. Was trying to find out how hot my glass was getting. Slight hijack, Brad :)

How are the state rest areas on I-40 in New Mexico for overnight? Choice between the rest areas, truck stops, or WM. Been a while since I have been through there.

Tom, yeah IAC can stand for I'm Always Cussing also. lol I meant Idle Air Control in this case. Haven't had occasion to test it again but I believe one other person out front that can stick an arm down and place a finger on that side would turn that into just a few minute job.

Seems like I remember taking the tire off passenger side when I had a 1995 E-250 with the 5.8l to make it easier to change the last couple of plugs and wires out. Be ready to learn or invent some new words if you need to change out the IAC motor/valve and have no one to help you.
