Snowstorm on the way for Washington, D.C.
A storm will swing up from the southern United States and bring a period of accumulating snow to Washington, D.C., Sunday and Sunday evening. The storm may begin as a mixture of rain and snow morning. From 1 to 3 inches is forecast for the Capital District with greater amounts just to the north. Roads and sidewalks can become slippery soon after the storm begins. Areas made wet can freeze on Monday as winds increase and temperatures plummet with a long-lasting blast of Arctic air and dangerously cold conditions for the rest of the week. Conditions will result in the coldest Inauguration Day since 1985.
Currently only 52 and breezy where I'm camped N of Yuma, just SW of Picacho Peak. Was planning to go for a ride, but might hike instead, since I don't think it will get much warmer. Crazy gusty winds here yesterday and last night... very tough to sleep.Cool in the desert in the shade of the saguaros, around 50 degrees but will get closer to 60 degrees today.
