Yep and we have a winter wonderland about to happen here in the Texas Panhandle and Central Texas...

One of my propane heaters died Sunday nite, I have a spare but OF COURSE it died when the cold weather is at it's worst.

13 degrees this morning.

Brrr....

Anything below 60 degrees is “cold” to me! My daily walks have gone from morning to noon and next week probably late afternoon! It’s a little above 60 here in Tucson but with the breeze feels like mid 50’s. Gonna have to wear a hoodie today!

We've received about 8 inches of snow here. I went to shovel some areas clear yesterday and Wooooh.....the top two inches were of frozen rain. Like a 2 inch thick sheet of styrofoam. Difficult to shovel at best.

I wound up using the garden hoe to remove that and then shoveling the snow that was under it.

Temps here headed to ZERO. Steady at 20 now. Not a lot of wind but it is snowing more now.

Was at Organ Pipe today. Managed the Desert View Trail at high noon ... feels like quite a luxury not to have to race out first thing in the morning to avoid getting fried.

Stay warm and safe, people in the cold wave.

What a mess out in Southern Cal.

Meanwhile, right here in the Texas Panhandle, we got nothin but drought and cold air.

We NEED some snow or some kinda precip!

Remember spending January 1970 at Shepherd AFB with a foot of ice covering the 8 foot chain link fence. Be careful what you wish for!

If it snows 6 inches or more maybe I can make some money pushing snow with the tractor!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I just got back from having lunch at the senior center...it was a nice brisk motorcycle ride in 30 degree air...for some reason all the old ladies can't believe I ride in these temps....whats up with that?

I'm watching CBS News/weather and they are covering the fires in southern California now. They are reporting that they haven't seen anything like the fire devastation in over 20 years. But they are also stating that the dryness along with the high winds has led to this "historic" fire in southern California.

For the Quartzsite area, the 40 mph wind gust and cooler air (mid 60's by day and mid 30's to mid 40's by night) has left an alert for unhealthy air quality with extreme dust & dander and moderate tree pollen. Possibly a byproduct of the high winds and massive fire in California.

People living in southern California are saying that they have never seen it like this in their life times. So dry and so windy.....in January.
