    I've been a member for some time.....but.........

As far as looks are concerned, they are low on my priority list. Would I like my stuff to look good? Sure. But my experience is that most of the things we have or might have may be economical, they may be practical and they may be stylish. But we can usually only pick two.

    I've been a member for some time.....but.........

I haven't been very active. I joined when I got nomad fever. Just after retirement. That happened a bit earlier than planned. I was only 58 years old. But my job was turning into garbage. Revenues had fallen badly, with no real prospect of recovery. Those who still had jobs at the place...

    Decided to pull the trigger!

It sure does sound like you'll have a fine rig once you've put a crate or rebuilt motor in it. You ought to get a lot of bang for your buck. Best of luck with it.

    AC Battery Chargers

I am no expert. Full disclosure. But....that said.....I tend to dislike appliances which combine more than one task into one piece. One reason being that....in your case........if your inverter gives up the ghost, then you must replace both your inverter and your charger. So I would...

Too bad this isn't going into production. Yet.

Well.......I suppose it's ultralight. That might encourage actual production.

A van or RV might be my new home

Hi, Tropicaldaze. I'm thinking of going nomad for, perhaps, similar reasons to you. I'll mostly be relying on Social Security in retirement. I want to keep things simple and inexpensive. Best of luck to you!

    WeeRolling with Wrangler

Yes. The Weeroll looks like an awful lot of utility bang for the buck.

    Greetings

Well, welcome aboard willingtorelocate. I'm a newbie around her myself. For that matter, I'm not even a vandweller. Though I do have some experience living out of a pickup truck back when I was making my living out on the road. My wife and I are newly retired and considering giving up our...

    Retirement

I recently asked my brother if, like me, he's finding it difficult to fasten on his shoes these days. He chuckled and admitted that he wears almost nothing but slip-ons. And that this difficulty is exactly the reason why. I laughed a bit and told him that I still wear boots with laces since...

    wanting to hit the road

Glad to meetcha, darlenegrone. It's not clear whether you're considering genuinely abandoning the rat race or not. For instance, are you contemplating selling your house and living out of a small vehicle? My wife and I are thinking of giving our house to the kids and going nomad. And we...

    Learning curve to drive van?

A van has one advantage over other vehicles; you can either see, or very nearly see, all four wheel wells.  Once you have firmly in your mind the relative positions of yourself and the four wheels, you only need some minor adjustments in your perceptions before you know the relative positions of...

    Alo, Alo!

Welcome aboard, DennisK. I'm not sure I understand why there's any question about bringing your dogs. I wouldn't go nomad or snowbird without a dog. Two wouldn't bother me one bit. For that matter, I wouldn't live stationary without a dog. Are you concerned that there's simply not enough...

    Well, it's a start!

And now I've remembered one small laugh involving my youngest. When she was fresh out of high school her first job was of the entry-level sort plus hard work: hotel housekeeping. (Don't worry. She's done noteably better since.) I gave her a motorized bicycle, which I'd ridden successfully...

    Well, it's a start!

Thank you, dawnann7.   I suppose I could have included that story in the original post.  I guess I steered away because I didn't want to ramble too much.  But that was kinda silly since I often ramble on purpose.  It can often be good for a small laugh or two. This must have been twenty years...

    New from Lakewood, Colorado

Glad to hear it, moontiger! Now I gotta admit that I just can't wrap my head around sleeping in a Neon. Unless you'll be doing it sitting upright?
