    Converting RV to solar

Thanks, all, I have decided to forego the lithium conversion and instead upgrade to a 200 Ah AGM. I can still supplement with my solar and my Bluetti when not on shore power

    Converting RV to solar

Thanks AF. I wasn't planning on running anything else off the batteries except for the fridge, water pump and the lights; everything else will run off propane, and I would continue to run the Jenny for the AC. Already started upgrading all the lights to LED. I just don't like driving down the...

    Converting RV to solar

Hi everyone, been following and posting on this forum for many years, and for the last five years I have had my own build, a converted cargo trailer, where I knew everything inside and out because I put it there. Just recently purchased a 2001 Class A, which still has a 2-way fridge and a...

    Escape in New York

Also, for more ideas in living in a car, check out the YouTube channel by Nikki Delventhal. She's a young (33) girl who spent the last 3 yrs living with her dog in a Prius. She's upgraded now to a van, but there's tons of older videos of how she made her Prius life work. She's real easy on...

    Escape in New York

I am also in upstate NY (Albany area), and am in love with the ADKs. I try to get camping up there at least once a month. For free camping areas, I love the NYSDEC primitive camping in Moose River Plains and Silver Lake Wild Forest. I have a 6x12 converted cargo trailer. I love the Bluetti...

    Any Northeast Nomads on Here

Hi everyone, its been a while since I've posted in these forums. I've been hanging out on Facebook at Cargo Trailer Conversions, and have been trying to generate some interest in gatherings in the Northeast. We did have a gathering here in NY before Covid hit, and I made some wonderful...

    NEVR (NorthEast Vandweller Rendezvous)

VTwinkicker, sorry, I was incommunicado for some time and didn't see this invite.  I would have been so down for your Albany gathering last month, as I am located just southeast of Albany myself.  If you do have another gathering in May, please include me...I will be in deep camping withdrawal...

    Northeast Gatherings

So Hi looks nice, but a bit pricey for most budgets. Last weekend, I spent a night in Gannett Hill Park, just west of Canandaigua Lake , I think the prettiest of the Finger Lakes.  Electric sites are just $20 a night, non-electric sites are $15, and are VERY nice: Tent site: Electric site...

    Northeast Gatherings

I, too, spent a big part of my life out there, Binghamton (Endicott) and  Hornell, now living between Albany and the Mass border.

    Northeast Gatherings

I would like to get out in the Northeast as many weekends as possible this summer.  Am leaving tomorrow for western NY to see my brother, flying in from AZ to see his son/my Godson outside Rochester.  I will be staying one night in Gannett Hill Park in Monroe County, one night in my Godson's...

    Northeast Gatherings

I did get in contact with  Sohi in Accord. He does not have a separate area for groups, but would just put us all in the same area. He would give us a discounted rate, but not as much  I had hoped for - $37 per night.  A bit too high...maybe "Sohi"? Another place might be Chenango Valley State...

    Northeast Gatherings

I will poke around Savage! I made an inquiry to the SoHi Campground in Accord, NY.   Has great reviews, say they accommodate groups up to 100, not that we'll have that many. Anybody know anything about it? Individual camp rates are pricey, but hopefully we can get that down to a reasonable rate.

    Northeast Gatherings

Hi, everyone, trying to start up this thread again. I was all set to head to the Smoky Mountains GTG in July, but the organizer has cancelled.  Still looking to get together with some like-minded folks.  Anywhere from Maine to Maryland, from June -October. Anyone have ideas?

    any other RTR's?

Hey Ped, There was a GTG that was going to happen in the SMoky Mountains in NC, but the organizer backed out.  I'm still up for that, if anyone else wants to, or I am willing to organize one closer to me in Upstate NY - for example, I found some State Parks in Maryland that have group camping...

    SMOKY MOUNTAIN'S (NC) - Private Gathering - June 2018

Anyone up for a gathering in Maryland?  I found a state park with group camping, tents/cars/trailers/RVs up to 30', accommodates up to 25 people, total cost is $112, I'm assuming that's per night.  But still, if you get 25, that's less than $5 per person per night...
