As much as I like this site and the Youtube channel, the You tube is starting to annoy me a lot.  I haven't been able to stop the intro video from playing.  I don't need to see it everyday.  Plus I'm not going to subscribe due to all the Google hoops you have to jump thru.  Not interested in giving them my age, bday, phone #, etc  There must be a different place for info videos that aren't as intrusive.  This probably isn't the right place for my complaint, but had to blow off steam.

The more YT videos a person watches, the more minutes on intro's. I had one 12 minutes. Hit the refresh F5 key (windows pc)..sometimes will eliminate or at least lessen the minutes required. They know more about you than you think anyway. :)

The internet is becoming more and more commercialized. It used to be a smaller place, with many niche websites offering the variety we all wanted. Now YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc are the corporations monopolizing all of the web traffic and they use this monopoly to stuff advertisements down your throat.

That's why I use any of the few remaining small websites. Like this one.

I don't know what sort of a device you have, but if you're on a computer using a browser like Firefox or Chrome; Get AdBlockPlus. It will make all YouTube advertisements cease to exist.

i hate it that they think they have a right to burn my bytes,,when they start reimbursing me for the motion adds then i will watch,,as it stands i make it a point NOT to do business with them

Anyone can add a page of CRVL youtube videos that have links starting after the intro?

Just added it to my chromebook and those super annoying banner ads on this site went away!  Thanks so much.

Of course, skipping the ads means the content producer doesn't get a cent for the time and effort they put in making their video, but sitting through 5 minute ads is maddening

I was trying to watch some of those helpful how-to vids someone linked to yesterday, but each five minute video started with the exact same full length commercial for tylenol, after three or four times I stopped watching the channel.  I appreciate the person taking the time to make the video and share their skills, but it's the sort of thing where when I NEED the info, I'll search it out and sit through the commercials, not before if that's how the site is going to be.

Queen, the content producers don't choose the ads, usually, ad(non)sense does, it's supposed to be based on your browsing history, but we know how that works *rolleyes*
I will not watch a 5 minute ad, but I will listen to a minute r so, if i like the producer
Might be moot at this point anyway, with advertisers running from YT like it was on fire because they don't understand how ad-sense works and the recent hit piece

I have noticed that some content providers use services like Patreon which allow those of us who really want to pay for content to pay for it while skipping ads on Youtube. I even get nice postcards from some of the folks I support which is a nice perk but mostly I like to pay for the content because I value it and want those who produce it to get paid.

patreon is a good idea, or if you subscribe to YT red, part of your payment gets divvied up between the YTers you watch according to how much of their content you watch

I don't understand some of the youtuber's mentalities. They get so upset if people don't want to support their video's financially. It was originally a place to share your passions with the world. Now a lot of them are just as bad as the advertisers. No one is forcing them to make these videos. It's the new get rich scheme in my opinion, everyone looking for an easy way to make a buck. There is no easy way, all the successful ones put a lot of time and effort into it.

ha,my new strategy, let someone else post my views so they are the a hole and just thank them

yea,right

as soon as i see patreon i will never watch your vids again, bad video, bad sound,no story line and you want me to pay for it?

Wow, I didn't think anyone would actually see my whining. I found a Firefox add-on that stops the auto play on YT. Finally!! Takes care of one problem, now I don't have to listen to videos start blaring and scare me half to death. Doesn't solve the problem of Google/YT wanting info that's none of their damn business, just to subscribe. Definitely going to try the other smaller(?) sites.
