THis is working for site+utilities.

Does anyone know how the value of the site/utilities is treated for tax purposes?

Do federal or state regulations require it to be reported as income?

Just curious!

All those areas are surrounded by outstanding boondocking, I you can spend just a little bit of money to get set up to boondock you can skip working altogether.

The general rule on taxes for the site is if you are required to live there as part of the job, it is not taxable, if not it is.

Ahh, thanks!

I'd like to be able to volunteer at some of the places where I want to stay for an extended amount of time but I can't 'earn' any money.

I'm sure there's also some who are in a position where having additional taxable income would be counterproductive come tax time.
