in early Aug. Plan on doing Mt Rushmore, Devil's Tower, the Badlands and Yellowstone if we have 2 weeks. Add Glacier Natl Park if we have 3 weeks. Anyone have anything else that teenagers might like up there? We need to show them a good time so they will come to us next summer, too.

that all by itself should put their minds on overload!!!!.......Nature in that perspective to a teen will beat out his smart phone!!

Custer Battlefield National Monument (that's not the actual name, I forget it right now). For history buffs it's amazing but I don't know about teenage boys. I love the old West, Mountain Men and Native American history and there are so many great museums for all that. Especially Cody Wyoming and Great Falls, MT. The whole Lewis and Clark Trail also.

We love boating, and Gates of the Mountains has a fun boating tour that you can go on. It's in Helena, and is right on the way up to Glacier.

there's also a cool boat trip up at Glacier Lake as well.

man, this sounds like a super fun trip!!! They're gonna have a ball!!

Check out the Going To The Sun Road at Glacier.

Took tenative itinerary to boys. Also gave them these suggestions. They love everything. Per parents, they are busy googling and planning. Thanks!

Oh, these very civilized boys almost went into shock when they found we would have long periods with no wifi. Hate to sdmit it, but I had way more woodcraft and outdoor experience at their age then they do. A LOT! They think "roughing it" means no wifi for a day. Camping means spending the weekend up at the inlaws trailer in a snazzy resort. Wildlife are all tame and cute and benevolent. They thought they might approach and hand feed bison like they do their other grandpsrents' horse and dairy cow, and that they could scare grizzly bears away by shouting and waving their arms. I am going to enjoy watching their minds expand.

Roadtrippers has a link teenagers might enjoy: filmspotting.

"Visit the iconic filming locations for your favorite movies, from chick flicks & rom-coms to dramas & horror classics!'

Roadtrippers is a wonderful resource for route planning, sightseeing and exploring. It will show you anything from historical, native, scenic routes, and attractions to lodging, shopping and food along your chosen route.

It has been years ago for me, but I remember some dinosaur park dig thing out that way.
