Just curious about where your travels have taken you today. I am wandering the Blueridge Parkway in N.C.  The weather is awesome and the rivers are cold. Going to spend awhile as there is so much area to explore. Like to hear about where you are right now and how do you like it. So many people sharing so much info is awesome. I feel like I struck Gold! Happy day and safe travels to all !

actually there is gold in North Carolina.

So I've been told several times. Maybe it's time for a metal detector and a safari hat. Do some casual prospecting.

I'm somewhere in Virginia (I"d have to kill you if I told you. For Stealth) waiting on the completion of van repairs (one week and counting).
How's traffic on the BRP this time of year? Suggest a visit to Mt. Airy while in NC: The real-life Mayberry NC with Floyd's Barbershop and all.
A visit to Roanoke VA may be in the cards for me if I ever get back on the road.

I am in west lower Michigan. Working on my Peterbilt Motorhome and getting for a mini-trip next weekend. Everything is green and lush, and there is lots of fresh water.

Hope to make the RTR in 2017 for the first time!

Alas, still at my S&B in upstate NY.  My vehicle is still being worked on.  Really, REALLY want to be out of here before the snow flies.

There's an old story about a sailor who walked away from his ship carrying an oar over one shoulder.  He kept walking inland until he finally got somewhere where everyone was going, "Say, mister, what's that funny board you're carrying?" and that's where he stopped.

I plan to do the same thing with a snow shovel . . .

Reno,
Lol, Noted! And probably don't wanna know right? The traffic is a crawl most of the time. Summer break, every one from Florida, and tons of tourists. Kinda just get in the flow, pick some music and look for the next fun place to stop. Thanks for the suggestion about Mayberry, sounds fun.
And thanks for the heads up about stealth. Didn't consider peoples privacy when I posted this, should re write it to say, "where are you approximately" lol. Didn't mean to sound nosey, just curious.

Ryndon, NV.
Looks like I'm stuck here for another few weeks... :)

Ogden, Utah, but I live here. My next trip will be a monthlong mountain climbing adventure through Wyoming and Montana. I leave in a week and a half!

I'm in North Pole, Alaska for several more weeks as I finish up my summer construction job. Really getting itchy to be back on the road. I haven't made as much as I hoped for, but saved hard and feel okay with my bank account. And it's been a fun summer, without the heat that most of you are experiencing.

I have done the snow shovel tied to my rear ladder indicator for knowing when I have gone far enough south,,,,,,,it works !

For another 3 months and 7 days I am here in the Near North of Ontario.

Lush green forests, beautiful sparkling lakes, mosquitoes, tourists, more mosquitoes...

I got so bored here putting in my six months mandatory time that I took a part time seasonal job. Started yesterday for training and will work through to the end of October. It's doing something I've never done before!

I'm cooking at a remote off the grid lodge for 3 and 5 day 'package' guests in a kitchen with propane lanterns and an old crochety propane stove that has to do double duty for heating water as well as for cooking for up to 20 people at a time. Good thing I have support staff to help! It's not like I haven't cooked in primitive conditions before so that part is a breeze. Standing on my feet for up to 5 hours at a time is the challenge...Oh and the stairs to hell (the basement) - 12" risers and I have to use my headlamp to see where the steps are!!

I'm in East Central Florida now and it gets warm.  On the coast we do get breeze and that helps a lot.

My favorite place in the world is in the Blowing Rock - Boone part of North Carolina.

Just left Boone/ Banner Elk last week. Really nice but a bit crowded right now. Went down to Spruce Pine and started the BRP just below that. Still driving on it and I am finding more beautiful waterfalls, lakes, hiking and river rafting than I can do. Love this State!

hey Iggy, can I give you my wish list so you can personally deliver it to Santa? highdesertranger

I'm right here!   :D

Still stuck in Missouri.  Rebuilding my van while waiting on a medical release.    :(

I currently live in a S&B in Boston but can't get out of here and on the road soon enough, hopefully before another winter.
