Freedompop has changed their global sim from 200 minutes talk, 500 text and 200 Mb of data ( 700 with friends) to 100/100/100 and including unlimited use of the whatsapp app.

Whatsapp is a facebook messaging app that you can use to call, text and send pictures and videos to other people that have the app. I thought it was great until I realized I know of no one with the app, so I am glad there is still a way to get the original plan. Were I to have family and friend with the app I could see the unlimited use beneficial.

Was thinking about getting the sim as an alternative account for my iPhone. So completely free? What cell tower system does it use? Will it over write PROFILE data on phones?

They run off of AT&T or T-Mobile GSM towers and you can clear the data from the app to remove the info. I have too every time I switch switch sims in my phone so that it sees the new sim. Mine are using AT&T right now and I see speeds up to 6.6 MBPS down. The only thing about whatsapp is you have to know some one else that uses it.

There is a way for regular sim to convert to a whatsapp account and back again if you didn't like it.
