Homelight generators powered rural electrification in the early twentieth century. Do they still make them, or just chain saws? Hmm.
Well, what I really want to know is everyone’s opinion on the best and quietist generators capable of powering an rv air conditioning unit. Don’t need it for awhile, but in several months I will need one to charge two 100ah batteries. Should I start small then upgrade?

Honda EU2000i is generally considered the best.

A RV A/C is going to require a 2800 watt generator unless you are going above 8000 ft. The Honda EU3000is is the cream of the crop. For occasional use I would go for the Champion 3100i because they can handle more surge and cost so much less.

Thank you Jim, just what I’m looking for. I won’t have ac in my van for the first year out, so the Champion sounds great. I’m the one who emailed you about buying a solar consultation during early March. So I’m still planning to see you first thing when I get on the road. My initial needs will be for powering my phone, tablets, then I will aquire a dometic type fridge, a 32 in.TV, a fantastic type fan, a wiboost, an instant pot, and maybe a dish receiver/Dvr. Just to get you thinking. See you in March!
